Re: Driving related

  • No, she was not a rescue dog. A couple we know is in the army, well one of them is. They got the dog thinking they were going to be living in SC for a while, but she got orders to move to another base. Then she found out she was pregnant. They were planning for a baby and trying to move, and decided they couldn't keep the puppy. They offered her to us and we were happy to have her.
  • And I'm pulling an E or P2 on this...sorry for the typos and no paragraphs, I'm on my BB
"In the old days my ass would be in your back yard picking cotton, so excuse me if I don't put much stock in how f*cking awesome the old days were." -Nuggs
  • That's still very good- I hope you keep her around she looks like a sweetie. I really wish you the best, I know training puppies can be hard. What training methods do you use, is she crate trained? Have you heard of NILIF? It stands for Nothing In Life Is Free, and it is a good dog philosophy.

  • And also I realized that offering constructive criticism would have been better when you were complaining about her bad behaviors. But... yah, lesson learned.

  • All your dog problems are because you're not training her right.  You obviously need help training her, and several people tried to point that out, and your response was "I've had dogs all my life."Sweetie, all dogs are different.  No one gives a fuuck how many you've had.  If the dog isn't learning, you need to changed something.  That's what we were all trying to tell you, and you refused to hear us.  Responding to people trying to help you like that is like stomping your feet, putting your fingers in your ears and saying "LA LA LA I CAN'T HEEAARRRRR YOU!"  So...yeah.

  • Vally- Thank you, I appreciate it. She's done well with crate training. The hardest part has been keeping DH on the same page as me when it comes to discipline. Sure, maybe the situation is comical at times, but she needs consistent discipline. Not laughter and a jokoing tone from him, then stern tone and fussing from me. But we're doing pretty good with it. And she's smart, she'll be a good once after we survive the puppy stages.J&K, you may have taken something out of context? My dog was climbing over gates, digging out of the yard, stealing food off the counter, chewing through the cords of everything, jumping all over people, riding the couch across the room, etc.
  • Your H definitely needs to be on the same page with discipline. And I do remember what J&K posted about you saying you've had dogs all your life, and I agree all dogs are different (All Dogs go to Heaven, too). So, just given your dog's recent circumstances of already being re-homed once, I just would hate for that to happen again.I'm waiting for someone to come in here with a Dead Horse analogy.
    image
  • The other day, I was beating this dead horse and it pooped all over me. I was all WTF? about it because I can't figure out how dead horses poop.
  • No, I don't think I did.  Because I wasn't referring to this post.  I was referring to the same post Vally was talking about.  I believe it had to do with your dog stealing a sandwich or something, though I could be wrong on that.  However, I'm glad to hear that's in the past and you guys have gotten things under control.

  • I can always count on you, cew.

  • We're like peas and carrots.
  • Your H definitely needs to be on the same page with discipline.Absolutely. Mixed signals are not going to get anything acheived. And yes, I have had dogs all my life. I have had experience with puppies, and obviously, it's no walk in the park. They are going to be curious and energetic and get into things. They need training and we're doing our best. I was human and had a venting moment about the dog. It got blown way out of proportion and knotties made me out to sound like Michael Vick. And once one person blew it up, the others took it and ran with. The post ended up being mostly me trying to tell everyone I'm not a monster, and getting only a small amount of advice. Ehh, life goes on.*continues beating dead horse* Your turn vally.
  • Peas make me gag.
    image
  • Then, you are obviously the carrots.
  • Wait. No, that means I make you gag. Shiit.
  • cew, that reminded me of a South Park episode. Except that was talking about dead people, not horses. Any chance you've seen it?
  • Wait. No, that means I make you gag. Shiit. I am not even touching that one.
    image
  • Someone please explain to me why peas and carrots go together.  Because I've never understood it.

  • Peas and carrots DO NOT go together. The person who told you that was a liar liar pants on fire. Same with liver and onions.

  • Except that was talking about dead people, not horses. Any chance you've seen it?I don't think so. If I did, I don't remember it, but now I want to see it. Dead people and poop are two of my favorite things. J&K - They go together because they are both green. Duh!
  • This has been the strangest thread ever.
  • So what are those orange things I've been eating all my life?

  • He should be able to request the pics from the camera. Here, they send them to your house so you know it's you. My coworker had an awesome one of running a red light with a cigarette dangling from her hand. We cracked up over it. And then I stopped laughing when she told me she had a $400+ fine.
