Are you planning to wear your e-ring forever?

I'm just curious and a little bored. I noticed that quite a few women at my job stopped wearing their e-ring after they got married. One woman had what looked like a matching set. I've noticed that now she only wears the band. So, are you planning to stop wearing your e-ring once you get married? I'm not. Actually bf and I talked about this. He said he'd be pissed if I stopped wearing it after he saved for months to afford the ring.

Depends. I go back and forth between wanting a big honkin' diamond (the professional term for 2 carats you know) and a very thin simple white gold band to function as both ering and band. So. When bf wins the lottery and buys me a rock so big I can't hardly hold my hand up, then yes, I will wear that until they pry it off my cold dead fingers. Otherwise, who knows. But your bf has a very good point. So there.

Most days I wear mine but there's days when I just want to wear the band. When I am at work I can't wear my e-ring so I just wear my band.

I plan on wearing it forever because when i get engaged my e ring will probably be part of my wedding ring set..

I think it depends on your job, and how much your ring size has changed over the years. I will wear my e-ring as long as it fits. Im thinking I don't even want a wedding band because my e-ring already takes up so much room on my short fingers, and its already beautiful and simple and classic.

It's going to depend on the ring I guess...I really want a ring with a tiny diamond (we're talking half carat MAX) because I wear rubber gloves every day at school already and will be doing the same at work after I graduate. I want a ring that's small so I can keep it on and not worry about it ripping the glove or getting scratched up.So if the man gets what I want (small stone, low setting), then yes, I will wear it every day for the rest of my life...otherwise, my career is going to dictate that I do not.

I love my ring. Part of me doesn't even want a wedding ring because I think it would be overkill. But I'll probably wear both until my fingers get all swollen with pregnancy and then do what my mom does and wear my engagement ring on my right hand and my wedding ring on my left hand.

it never crossed my mind either not to wear it. i definitely plan on wearing both all the time - my job does not impact my ability to wear my rings.and i figure i wait so long to get an e-ring and i only plan on getting engaged once so i will want to wear it all the time!!! and like other pp's said, if he is going to spend that type of money and put thought into it, i want to have it with me at all times

I will do like NQB-- wear it until my fingers get fat during pregnancy, then wear it on my right hand. I may only wear the band when my kids are tiny babies because I already knock this thing around on enough stuff, I don't need to put a princess-cut dent in my child's head.Then I'll wear engagement ring and band again once the kiddos don't need me to change their diapers and dress them several times a day.

question...why would you wear it on your right hand as opposed to your left? it there some kind of sentiment or something behind that?and isn't your right hand bigger than your left? mine is anyways! just didn't understand...thought i'd ask!

My e-ring was designed by my FI, and the way it's done, a band wouldn't work on it. After discussing it, I decided I'd have one ring. We'll just get it engraved before the wedding. So yeah, I plan on wearing it for a long time.

Sometimes my e-ring still gets caught on things, but it is gorgeous and was expensive, so I am definately planning on wearing it after the wedding! My e-ring and wedding band look perfect together!

My right hand isn't bigger than my left. O_OAnywho, the idea is that when your fingers are swollen (like, around period time or on a hot, humid day) wearing one ring on a finger can be uncomfortable enough.Now, when you have about 9 months of that swollen finger deal, you're lucky if your wedding band fits by itself.My friend recently had a baby, and she could not wear both rings comfortably on one finger. Some days, even just her wedding band wouldn't squeeze on.I would like to wear my engagement ring in some way, so I will probably try it on the right hand to make things more comfortable with the baby weight sausage fingers.

Hell yes, I'm planning on wearing it! I love my ring, and I can't imagine not wanting to wear it every day. Especially after FI saved for so long to buy it.

bekalinz: My right hand is bigger than my left too. I always thought your dominant hand was bigger. I know my sister's is and my mom's is. It's only like half a ring size but it's definitely bigger.

My left hand is slightly bigger (by about 1/4 of a size). And I write with my right hand.

Mermadison, Be careful what you wish for!

I got a very simple 2.2ct in platinum, it's super hard to keep it clean, and I have to take it off at night (a few near-stitch experiences). I planned on wearing mine without taking it off; but it's just not possible

I was scared at first to sleep with mine on, but once it was re-sized (and I wasn't scared it'd slip off), I have no problem sleeping with it. I only take mine off to do dishes, cleaning, and when I work out.

Like pp have said, I plan on wearing mine with my wedding band for as long as I can. I will probably have to stick with just the band when I get preggers (sausage fingers). I don't work in a job field that would prevent me from wearing it to work and my e-ring is so sentimental that I couldn't even think of leaving it sitting in a jewelery box.

I plan on wearing it forever (although good points about scratcing babies-- yikes!). Also I plan to wear the wedding ring and ering on the same hand. On the subject of different sized fingers-- my left is about half a size bigger, same thing with my feet though. My sister is the exact opposite, hands and feet. So maybe the feet and hand bigger size is correlated?

your dominant hand/arm is almost always bigger than your non-dominant hand/arm because it's used more frequently [there's usually a little more muscle throughout].but to answer the OP, i never even thought of not wearing it. bf hasn't proposed yet, but i picked out the ring he's going to propose with and i LOVE it. i don't think i could ever not wear it.

I plan on wearing mine forever. And I do work in a job that requires me to put on non-latex gloves (yay for latex free corporations!) countless times a day. I've yet to have a problem with it. And I didn't let my job (and frequency of glove use) dictate my ring style either- its a fairly high setting. I was a bit nervous at first because lots of people make that comment- but its never been a problem for me either.

My Fi will not let me take my ering off because I lose everything. I have been really active with it on but it only gets annoying when I wash my hair. My Fi did hit is head on the ering while sleeping. I now flip my ering around with the band facing up when I sleep or in a bad situation. Its a comfortable ring because the band is thin.

People have commented that I have a fairly high setting, but it doesn't bother me at all. I do take my ring off when I make meatloaf or in other situations where I could get nasty stuff in the setting. I will wear it as long as I can when pregnant, and resume wearing it after the baby is born. I've taken care of our nieces and nephews with it on and it hasn't been a hindrance.

I would wear both the engagement ring and wedding band as a set. My question is, are you supposed to wear the engagement ring when you walk down the isle, or are you just supposed to wear the band on the wedding day?
