We are! I was actually in tears last night and I almost called to cancel, but it must be done. Otherwise I'll end up as the old lady with gray streaked hair down to her butt.
aw Don't be upset it'll be fun! There are lots of organizations that you can donate it too. Some don't want hair that has been chemically treated (colored) but I know there are some out there that do.
*butting in* I donated 15 inches a few years ago to locks of love and my hair was highlighted! I plan to donate again once the wedding is over *butting out*
I may look like a stranger to all of you! My mom put some darker color in it on Saturday. It has a very slight red tint to it. (We just pick a random color that she has in her cabinet and see how it turns out.) More of my lighter highlights will get cut off too. I'll be sure to take before and after pics!
I'm thinking somewhere below my chin (to soften my square jaw.) That's probably around 7-8 inches from what I can tell. I had a traumatic haircut in 8th grade that I still haven't fully recovered from (hello awkward years?) so taking off more than an inch makes me cry. (I promise I won't cry in front of you Elisha! Lol.)
Aww, Candice I'm sure it'll look great! I kind of feel your apprehension, I got a horrible perm right before 9th grade (which was also a new school for me) and I think that's why I always let mine grow long and don't do anything drastic. I wish I could be brave enough to chop mine to below the chin :-)I'm excited to see photos (and meet you on Friday)!
Don't be afraid, I have the squarest jaw ever, we are going to rock this out! I've seen tears before, I'll have some wine ready. Salon De La Elisha Always as the wine
Oh! I had no idea you were cutting your hair! I can't wait to see it short! Your hair is sooo long- I'm sure it'll look wonderful shorter! And you'll be able to do so much with it! And you'll have that cute little ponytail! (I love short ponytails). So, is Elisha cutting it for you?
She is! I told my mom (who has always done my hair) I don't trust her, lol. Really I just wanted a fresh person to try something new. You're right about being able to do more with it. I can't use hot or velcro rollers now because it's way too long.
oh! I'm excited for you! I didn't know you cut hair Elisha- I might have to take advantage of that! lol- I still cut my own hair in a ponytail... def take before and after pics! well, i've seen before- but not with this new color. you highlight your hair on your own? how do you do that? I think I may try to go blonde for Halloween
My mom is a beautician who just does family. I've never been to a real salon to have my hair cut. I've cut my own bangs when I used to have them, and I'll do layering short pieces in the front, but never the whole thing!
