Groom wants camo vests....

Re: Groom wants camo vests....

  • It's not that random to have camo at your wedding if your guy is outdoorsy.  My FI and the guys in our wedding will be wearing Mossy Oak camo vests as my FI is an avid hunter and a total country boy and would live in Mossy Oak clothing if he could.

  • For those of you who seem to think camo is strictly military, sorry its not. The vests are either Real Tree or Mossy Oak, and I ask you to show me a tried and true hunter who doesn't have a closet full of it.  Now if it was camo BDUs (which are worn by EMS in blue) maybe I could get the military point.  Shoot we have a whole closet full or camo hunting gear, and when I say gear, girls I mean 1 outfit of bibs and coat that retail for over $600 before taxes, so trust me when I say its true hunting gear.Once again I will agree with a couple posters who keep pointing out this is HIS wedding too, and it will be HIS marriage too.  I will not start my married life out arguing and fighting over something this stupid, he has no say over my dress and I have no say over his tux. If I truly wanted to be a witch he would given in and give me navy vests, but I'm not.  Ohhh, I guess I should tell you we will have 4 mounted deer heads and a bear rug in our home too.  That's how much he loves hunting. And no, they do not bother me, he doesn't drink, bar hop or abuse me, its the only thing he does for 3 months a year other than work. I love him for him and I am not going to spend the rest of our life trying to change him. Now, I'm thinking the green in my flowers with leaves should help with the green and how do you think chocolate brown accents would look with dark navy and white??I will also have a camo garter complete with deer charm.

  • I agree,  I've been in the military for 23 years, and live in hunting country in Michigan.  Camo is NOT just for the military.  Hunters do (and in many instances MUST) wear it.  Go out in your blue flannel shrit and see how many animals see you!
  • My FI wants to wear a tux that matches my colors but I want him to have something that is his style. He is a big kid and LOVES the Muppets. The first thing his family said was not to allow him to put Muppets in out wedding (they knew he would try).  So instead I am doing up our reception in the Muppets (without telling the family :) including the cake topper. And just for him I am trying to find a tie or special made cuff links that have the muppets on them for him to wear during the wedding. So I am all for the camo, glad you are letting your man wear something that expresses his style and who he is.
