It instantly made me think of those "that's so gay" commercials--which I think are fantastic. Unfortunately, I still say "gay" sometimes--just like I still say "retarded" sometimes--despite an honest effort not to. Shun me if you must
It's as bad or worse than calling something retarded. My brother used to use "that's so gay" all the time circa age 16 or so. Several comments along the lines of "You mean your English paper is attracted to English papers of the same gender?!" plus a hefty dose of maturity and he stopped.
Yeah. DH and his friends use it ALL THE TIME. To the point where, apparently, I have also picked it up. Unfortunately, I also have no filter, so that led to a really awkward incident with our flaming dance instructor on the last day of ballroom dance classes. Yeah. It sucked.
I picked up "ghey" from lala. I am a huge abuser of the word "gay." DH and I say it all.the.time. It doesn't mean I don't like gay people. I know it's really not appropriate, but I just can't help it. Sorry.
according to urbandictionary.com: a derivation of gay meaning lame. meant to be non-offensive to individuals of a homosexual persuasion. "That coffee cup is broken. How ghey."That's just stupid. and not non-offensive.
I like to say stuff that is not politically correct. Everybody's so uptight about everything these days. Sometimes people just have to lighten up. I know that different people have different "hot buttons," though. For example, if someone says something demeaning about women, I get pretty steamed about it, because I'm passionate about women's rights.
Dammit, cew, stop being such a ghey, fat, retard.I rarely laugh out loud at anything, but this did the trick. Ben just asked me what I was laughing at. If it didn't have the "ghey" word, which bugs people, it would be my new sig quote.
