sboston - I am dying laughing at 'we're not having kids bc I don't like them' that is so blunt and hilarious! tears are rolling down my face after laughing about the coincidence that Liz cut her FI's ex 'girlfriend's' hair and got sent home.  These are fun!

caitie-  From what I've been told, she went to Salem NH public schools and dropped out.  Although there were lots of Methuen people in our class. Btw, I've been thinking you looked familiar.  Did you do either ballet at Voters, gymnastics at Interstate or girl scouts at St Lucys?  That's the only place I can think of that I would know Methuen girls!

llamas?!?! yessssss!   Shazzie, I totally know what you mean about family. Mine are in NJ and those 5 hours seem more and more like an eternity every day. Ian and I are really close to my parents and make a point of spending a weekend with them either here or in NJ at least once a month. It would be so nice to just pop over for a weeknight dinner, or go on a hike together on a weekend. And holidays are really hard.  And when we have kids? Forget it. I refuse to be so far away from my own mommy. hehe.

I thought of another flame-worthy choice:We're only providing transportation for ourselves.  FI really wanted a classic car and we couldn't afford the car AND a limo, so we skipped the bridal party transportation.  I hope they can drive the 15 minutes down the road and not get lost :)

Spucc, my other favorite is "lollerskates". And if you ever need a pit stop on one of those trips to NJ, we're right off I-95. Just sayin'.

ipuella- I love your lanterns! :-) Good luck with the paint And you have llamas! ekobs- I did do girl scouts at St. Lucys! Small world. For some reason I thought you were a methuen chica...maybe because Joel is. Another creepy connection...I think I recognized your name on a recent evite for a friend's engagement party. My FI and I weren't able to go, but I have wanted to ask you about the connection. The groom is also a CCHS guy.
• edited December 2011
C- So that's the connection!  I'm from Methuen, but went to CCHS and did ballet instead of sports so I only know Methuen people from those things, and the ones that were at Central.  Yup, RBJ and Joel and I are good friends, he'll be at the wedding.  We actually missed the party bc I had to take Joel to the ER to get stitches!  He and my brother came home the night before from the bar, and Joel tripped over my makeup and grabbed this big mirror I have.  The mirror came down and sliced his toe open and fractured it.

Ahhh! LLAMAS ARE HILARIOUS! I love them. Here is my favorite llama video, it was viral when I was in college, which means it's probably really dumb now... http://www.albinoblacksheep.com/flash/llama Nope, still funny.

SHAMRK34: I know, I know...no dancing...well, our reception is at Tapeo, which is tiny and has 3 rooms & a patio...no "ballroom"---right now we are thinking of a few different ideas:(1) hire a spanish band to play during dinner/dessert (more background music) & have a flamenco dancer (or troupe) do a performance before or after dinner(2) have a casino company set up casino tables(3) some combination of 1 & 2(4)....or hire someone to play guitar during the cocktail hour, and someone else to play during dinner, or have a MINI dance floor with a salsa band...Since it's a Spanish restaurant I LOVE the idea of a flamenco troupe :)  But basically, me and like 5 other people would be the only ones to dance, so it's hard to justify spending so much (esp when FI ISN'T a dancer either), but I think we'll still need some cool background music, so we may go with a slightly different style than we would if we were planning on dancing.

don't think i'm missing out on this because it's so late! you girls are making me laugh so hard with your bluntness, so here comes mine: First name: Olivia (and i'm almost 24 [on the 28th!!!!] so i have been Olivia since long before it was the most popular name ever!!) First name of FI or DH/DW: Rich Wedding Date: July 3, 2009 Where do you live? concrete jungle where dreams are made of....aka New York City What is your job/line of work? actor (musical theatre degree)/professional waitress/various other soul sucking day jobs How many years have you and FI/DH/DW been together? 4.5!!! engaged at around 3.5, married right after 4. Give us your most flame-worthy wedding choice or detail. Don't be shy. Give it! we had open bar for cocktail hour and wine at dinner, then a cash bar. and since people drank over 40 bottles of wine, i'm not having a pity party for anyone who had to buy a drink. we gave everyone an incredible night in an incredible venue with amazing everything, and provided housing and transportation for a wedding party of 15....so suck it.
