Re: car opinions

  • I don't know about any of them except the Toyota Highlander.  My friend and her husband have one and I LOVE it so very much.  It's a great size, feels like a car but is a little higher up like an SUV, and it's big and roomy.  I really love it.

  • I love the Murano body shapes.
  • I love anything bby honda. But the Ford Edge is beautiful too!
  • What about the Toyota Rav 4?  My mom just got one and loves it. I like the Murano- I've been contemplating getting a Rogue myself.

  • I know it's not on your list, but FI and I are looking at Toyota Rav-4s.  They  have great consumer report reviews, and are pretty similar in size to the CRVs.

  • I'd buy the Ford, because Ford didn't take the bailout money: http://www.twoseconds.net/?p=200And because I'd want to choose an American car from an American company.(Lexus is a Toyota - headquartered in Aichi, Japan. Honda's headquarters are in Tokyo, Japan.  Nissan's headquarters are in Yokohama, Japan.  Ford's headquarters are in Dearborn, Michigan.)
  • I'm not sure I like the tire on the back of the Rav-4's... I like how the new CRV's no longer do that.

  • Agreed with PPs about the Toyota Rav-4.  Toyota is a great company.Honda CR-V is also great and similar in size.  I've had bad experience with Fords.  I would walk away from it.  Lexus is owned by toyota so I figure unless you want the added luxury (if you can afford it, why not?) then just go with a toyota.

  • I LOVE my Mazda CX-7.  LOVE.  It is the best handling car I've EVER owned.  I too, thought about purchasing a Forde Edge and also the Murano -- after test driving both -- there is no comparison.  Please test drive one.  I swear you will love it.  It has great pick up, smooth driving.  I'm thinking about getting another one when my lease is up or just buying the one I have.  I love it that much.
  • If you get the Lexus RX it would have to be very basic to get it for less than $25k. I think if you go with the others you can have more of the bells & whistles.
  • Another suggestion: Mazda CX-7 or CX-9?

  • I like the way the Murano looks. The only one I've driven/know much about is the CRV. My friend had one, I think a 2003? She loved it. It had a weird blind spot, but they've changed the style since, and you got used to it anyway.

  • I didn't think about mazdas...I will def. look into that! You are right that I'd get a more basic lexus with more miles, or a newer bells and whistle car from another brand.

  • Not sure about the Murano specifically, but I have the Nissan Versa and love it - I was able to get a lot more upgrades with a Nissan versus the Versa's closest similar car (Toyota Matrix). As to the person who commented about American versus foreign cars - Not sure about specific brands, but I know a lot of US cars are either not manufactured in the US or use a ton of foreign parts, and vice versa - Toyota manufactures a ton of cars within the US.
  • I used this site to help me decide on a car, when we bought our Versa this past summer.  It ranks everything according to safety, reliability, performance, etc. http://usnews.rankingsandreviews.com/cars-trucks/rankings/suvs/

  • my mazda is probably the sportiest AND most reliable car i've ever owned.. it's zippy and cute and i love it :)
  • Tide, my car twin! Do you have the sedan or the hatchback? I have the hatchback SL model - I adore my little versa :)
  • Kiki, hope you both love it!  My car's name is Cadence.  But, yeah, I'm a nerd. ;p
  • I love naming cars.  My high school car was named "Jesus Christ Supercar!"

  • My dad dubbed my first car, a 1991 Geo Tracker, the G-Ride.  Without realize how incredibly funny it actually was.

  • The new CRV's are nice but not roomy. Love the Pilot Had a good 'experience' in a rented Ford Edge ;)
  • KDC - We have the basic sedan.  I REALLY wanted the hatchback, but the extra $2000 was out of our budget.  We cashed in on the cash for clunkers program, got rid of DH's POS truck and ended up paying about $6500 for the car brand new when everything was said and done.  I LOVE it.

  • I have a ford edge and i get soo many comments on it!  I love it.  It's been a great car.  i bought the fully loaded one, because I practically live in my car for my work.  I love the options it offers and the ride is great.  Also is great in the snow.

  • VW Tiguan. I'm a VW girl. I've had a Ford Explorer and F150 and I'm just NOT a fan of Ford. I love all the Toyota SUVs. GL!
  • My high school car was named "Jesus Christ Supercar!" This is why I love you.
  • the new rav-4 is well designed, much safer and cheap too.  not a ford edge fan looks wise, but it drives well.  lexus is a totally different ballgame, no?  i you're gonna throw that on there, might as well look at volvo, bmw, infinity which i all like better.
