how to incorporate the way we met

My fiance and I met doing a youth theatre production of Puss in Boots, and we would really like to incorporate that into our reception.  Any ideas?  I'm open to all suggestions, from decorations to favors.  We are very much in the beginning planning stages, and nothing has been set in stone.  The only thing we know for sure is that we're going with blue accents overall.  Any thoughts would be appreciated!Thanks!

    A cat and boot cake topper?  Have a version of the book as your guest book?  Or just propped on your cake/place card table?

    Just keep in mind that your guests aren't here to decode your life story from the linen colors, they're here to party.  So if you want to incorporate that element into the wedding, do it understanding that it's just for the two of you, and not expecting your guests to notice.Just a warning.  Some brides get WAAAAAY too invested in that aspect of wedding planning, and it's really sad, because it's wasted effort.

    Sometimes I feel like people think that brides are delicate little flower princesses who get all dressed up and pretty for one special moment of their dreams, when really they're just normal people who just happen to be getting married. Things shouldn't have to be sugar-coated for grown-ass women. -mstar284

    great advice from aerin.  I just want to add that you really should remember that a **little** theme goes a long way.  Add in too much Puss in Boots and it's liable to stop looking like a wedding and start looking like a child's b'day party.

    That is an excellent point.  And while our 4-year-old niece would think it was fun, that isn't exactly the affect I'm going for.I'm liking the guest book idea.  It is subtle, and gives us a nice way to connect both important events.  But by all means, if anyone thinks of anything else, please pass it along!  :)

    You could also incorporate your theme by using table names and a description or explanation on what each name means or its importance to you both.
