Friday Afternoon Lull

I am here waiting out the rush before the Friday night storm at work.
Who else is here?

Any one want to show me their rendition of tap dancing Jesus?

Re: Friday Afternoon Lull

  • Hi! I'm here. Getting ready for an interview and then I'm getting the eff up out of here for the day.
  • Oh my gosh, I am jumping out of my skin, I want out of this desk asap.

I have a doctors appointment at 4:15 and I hope I don't have to come back to work afterward.

  • Im here.  Battling a migrane.  Gearing up for a busy weekend at work.

  • I hear you CEW, this week has been longgg.

Shell - I think it is pretty mandatory by all rules of decency and good will that no one should be expected to return from a 4:15 friday afternoon appointment.
  • I'm just about ready to call it the weekend. I'm not getting much work done.

  • Today has been weird. I've been really busy, which is strange for a Friday. Is anyone doing anything interesting this evening?
  • I just discussed with my co-worker how slow it is an we want to leave ASAP! We're in for a pretty bad storm here between 4-5 which sucks since I probably won't be able to walk home :( Gustin winds up to 70mph
  • This week has been a nightmare, and today has been painfully boring at work.

I'm going to drink my face off tonight.

  • I'm hosting FIs family for lunch/dinner for the first time on Sunday - which should = interesting!

    How about you cew?
  • M&M: Do you get to go home or do you have to stay through the night if you have an event?

well my job is denpendant on this woman who goes to the courthouse, and if she gets back in time, and I can do the stuff she brings me, I can leave early.  If she doesn't, I have to come back.

My coworker and I had lunch on a patio this afternoon, since it is b-e-a-utiful here.  We had pop.  Everyone else had beer.  Sad face.  I drive him home though, so we're going to stop at the beer store on the way and have a brown pop at his place.

I'm thinking that i want to stop by my house and pick up the little cat and her harness too.  I think she'd love to meet his 90 lbs German shephard/St. Bernard mix.

  • I get to leave work in 11 minutes!
    imageimage
  • I'm stuck here at work for another 45 minutes then I'm off! But I have to go to the store for a few things I forgot yesterday. I have 4 meals planned out for next week, and I managed to forget 1 item from each meal so I can't make any of them (they were on my list, but I was in a rush trying to get out before a major storm).

But on the plus side, movie night with DH! I feel like we haven't seen each other all week because of work so it will be nice to finally have some "us" time. Although I am still irritated with him for spilling soup on our new couch last night.
  • We had the tornado sirens go off earlier today for a high wind warning - had a nasty line of storms go through. It was headed straight for the town I live in and the town I work in.
So we had a pretty dramatic pressure drop and my head and back are really bothering me today.
But, J came and took me to lunch - after it rolled through.
This is what it looked like from my backyard (J sent it)

Yeah we rarely get entire nights to ourselves, and movies have become kind of a bonding for us. I can admit to a slight movie-buying addiction, but DH loves it because he gets to watch all sorts of films he's never even heard of. So we always have something to watch when we need a movie night.

Plus I promised him a back massage tonight so I need something to keep me entertained while doing so.

  • Missy- How far are you from where the storms went through? I just drove through Albert Lea, MN/Mason City, IA on Monday. And H's grandparents live near those places in MN.

Ribfest is this weekend in town! BBQ and beer- all weekend. It's my heaven.

I need to get some new movies. We're getting bored with the current selection and could use a spruce up in that dept!

We were doing so well at having "date night" at least once a month which involved just the two of us. The past few months though have been really though because FI got a new job and I work full-time as well as go to school. Now that summer is upon us things will get even crazier!

So what type of movies are you guys into? A specific genre or anything like that?

  • M&M- Because nothing is as cool as northern Indiana. Ribs, beer and a side of meth, to go. Undecided

No, we have everything. Comedy, action, thriller, animation. DH sometimes complains about what I buy (like Mamma Mia) but then ends up liking whatever we watch. They used to all be in a certain order that only made sense to be, but we got a new entertainment center and they are scattered, which is driving me nuts.

Tonight is The Book of Eli.

I hear you on the organization - especially if you have that many they need to be organized! But I'm totally obsessive compusive over those things. We like all sorts of movies, but really love the ones that we can laugh the whole time with :) Haven't seen The Book of Eli yet but it looks really good!
