Total tangent but I was at the Mall of American in a store with Noodle's sister and her little girl a few years ago (she was like, 3 and a half or 4). His sister went into the dressing room to try some clothes on and Tuti had to go to the bathroom, so I took her. In the bathroom this woman saw us come in and gave me the wierdest look. And proceeded to watch me wash Tuti's hands and then FOLLOWED US out of the bathroom and down the hall. Super close. And when I finally turned around and was all "excuse me, can I help you?" she barked at me "Who's child is that?? That's not yours, who's child is that?!?" Really loud. I was so upset and embarassed.

I think the movie would have appealed to hard core atheistis, absolutely. But that's not me.

Oh, Sarah#s, I forgot to mention - I thought Obama moved pretty far center during his campaign, after he won the nomination. So I had low expectations. So things like pushing for healthcare reform (even though I'm not please with it) and not defending DOMA/overturning don't ask don't tell are just an added bonus for me. I think low expectations when it comes to politics is the way to go.

And I doubt it will surprise anyone that I seriously debated voting for Cynthia McKinney for a while.

Something similar happened to one of my friends. She is black and married to a white man, and the child is very fair skinned. The person didn't say anything to her, but she looked relieved when she saw my friend's husband come up to them. I can't remember if this is the same friend who was mistaken for her child's nanny. The crazy b*tch totally freaked Tuti out and she was all "why is that lady yelling at you Auntie TT" and I think that made the woman realize she was offbase because she kinda muttered something and stomped away. But people were stopping and looking at us and I was seriously worried for a minute that some security guard was going to come flying out of nowhere and I was going to be in trouble. When I told my SIL she was LIVID.

Those Democrats are lucky I show up at the polls occasionally. I have definitely voted for Green or Socialist candidates many times (the guy who runs on the Socialist ticket in NJ helped Charlie find a lawyer after he got arrested protesting the RNC in 2004, so we like him).

And I will fully admit that a small part of me is worried that if I have a kid with Noodle, it will come out super light and the same thing will happen to me again, or darker (like my mom or brother) and it will happen to Noodle.

She can do what she wants. Post where she wants. Quote who she wants. Typically though, when you quote someone you want them to respond. So if you told me you dont want to talk to me, why would I bother responding to anything that you said?

Actually, I was just trying to have a mature conversation because I'm over whatevertheeff happened 6 months ago. And maybe someone else might not mind reading my comments who was also involved in the race conversation. Whatever.
