  • 1. My H is really truly ambidextrous.
    2. When I lived in LA, a C-list actor "stalked" me for a bit.
    3. I made awesome desserts but don't really like eating them.
    4. I would love to quit my job and be a SAHW but I'm not willing to housekeep, so I keep on working.
    5. When we first started dating, I thought there was no way in hell H and I would ever last as a couple.

  • I am going to eat with my hands the whole time I am in Toronto.

We ate steak in fargo too, so we totes must have been eating "wrong".

Well now you have to name names!
  • I think a lot of it though is that, for entertainment purposes, I don't know that I could sit through two hours of French accents from every character (#uppity brit, party of me Wink).

It drives me mental (but I'm half Brit and grew up listening to my family gabbering on in broad Yorkshire accents so I don't notice it when it happens) but I think it can be said of any film like that. Either British or American accents are used rather than "ethnic" accents because the largest audiences are English-spealing. Like 300. That drove me mental having a mix of Scots and Brits and Americans but at the same time, Greeks speaking Greek-accented English is hard for even me to follow sometimes, and I speak the language, kwim? Or like Invictus. I LOVED the film and it's something I remember clear as day but I scoffed throughout it at the accents because South African is incredibly hard to immitate and Nelson Mandela's voice shouldn't even have been attempted. But if I'm going to enjoy a film, I just have to put that aside or I'll end up nitpicking every little thing.

  • Yeah, I nitpick too. Which is why I am bad at watching period pieces even though I love history. If I notice anything historically inaccurate it drives me absolutely crazy.

Exactly. OMG. Like that time I watched 10,000 BC? Yeah. I posted a review on bookface of my thoughts throughout that film it was so bad. I should see if I can find it, apparently it was hilarious.

  • 1. I'll join the lefty club. I'm all about the left, except for playing putt-putt, or holding bags or babies. And my left eye is the weakest.  I write with my paper horizontal so I write without the claw, and got in trouble in 2nd grade handwriting. Oh well.  I'm also the only lefty in my family, both sides.

    2.  Dan Marino introduced himself to me after football practice one afternoon.

    3.  I went to college with the current mayor of Charlotte NC. I'm one year older than him. We're also friends on FB - were before he ran.

    4.  I was the first grandchild on the paternal side, and the second/first girl on the maternal side. There are a LOT of years separating the first wave on each side and the second wave.

    5.  My brother and I look a lot alike, just with different hair coloring and eye coloring.we have the same smile, same nose and same foreheads. We're the perfect blend of our parents. Which means I can't deny he's my brother..... ;)

  • Mica, I can't remember who that guy is or what he's been in, but I definitely feel like I can hear his voice and that both the voice and that picture make me not at all surprised he's a stalker.

[QUOTE]Alix - what did you think of Leo's accent in Blood Diamond?  I wondered how close he got while I was watching it.

He was pretty freaking fantastic. I mean, it wasn't spot on but he did a damn good job and accentuated it with mannerisms and common verbal interjections that we use and it was definitely praise-worthy.

Me too! I love history and am fairly knowledgable about historical clothing for certain periods and it drives me BATTY when they are super far-off the track in movies.

Remember King Arthur with Clive Owen and Kiera Knightly? I love that film (mmmm...Clive Owen...mmmm...Ioan Gruffudd) but Kiera Knightly is wearing preposterous clothing through the entire film. Also? Picts with trebuchets? WTF?

Also also: Shakespeare in Love? Spot-on with the costuming. Elizabeth? Horrible horrible disaster.

OMG that one drove me crazy. They had her with all the woad on her face, okay, but then she's in some skimpy freaking jane of the jungle meets xena getup... in Scotland... in winter? WTF? • 1. If I was 1-inch shorter I would technically be a midget.

    2. My twin brother is almost a foot taller than me.

    3. Thanks to my job I have been able to walk on the fields that the following teams play at: Colts, Patriots, Giants/Jets, Chargers.  I have also stood on the ice at Madison Square Garden. Because of the same job I have hung out backstage at multiple concerts, including Black Eyed Peas and Kenny Chesney.

    4. I buy my sneakers in the kid section almost all the time.

    5. I have a scar right above my lip.  Junior of college I was sitting at my computer and something on the bookcase above it fell over.  It created a domino effect of things falling until a picture frame was knocked over.  It's the kind where the glass just slides in and the glass flew out and hit me right above my lip.  It was way too "Final Destination" for my liking.
