I flame you for having an employee that you refer to as a secretary. It seems really Mad Men-ish.
  • Wouldn't the nuiscance clause be up to your landlord to prove if he would invoke it? Wouldn't the burden of proof be on him? And if your horses aren't a nuisance, then he wouldn't be able to evict you.

I know your landlord is BFFs with the people with the dog, but wouldn't they also have this "nuisance clause" in their lease contract? I would think something like that could be used to your advantage in dealing with the cops, landlord and neighbor. Of course I don't know much about this type of thing so I could be completely off base.

Was Sparent talking about TN people on SB or SB people on TN? I think I entirely missed any drama with Sparent.

ETA - I see from Rach's post it was the latter.

<div>Idk there was a hell of a lot of crazy going on in that thread. Including lots of "they" talk. Like "They wouldn't understand this kind of neighborhood" or something. I don't remember but it was ufucked. </div>

Yeah, see I flame this because I think it is ridiculous to have the inflated job titles.  For instance, I am a receptionist.  That is what I do.  That is what everyone at my work refers to my job as.  But my official title is Business Operations Associate. I don't see a reason for a secretary to suddenly be something else when they are still a secretary.

  • Yeah I'm not really understanding the flaming of the use of the word "secretary."  I am a secretary, that's what people call me.  I don't think it sounds pretentious.  The time someone called me "the help" was fucking pretentious.

Cfas -- oh, probably.  Unfortunately, nothing anything anyone says on CC surprises me anymore.  That board is whackadoo.

  • I think flaming the use of the word "secretary" only furthers the idea that secretaries should be ashamed of their jobs. I've been a secretary. I never minded when someone called me by my actual title: secretary.

Agreed. They're completely unnecessary titles and really only make it more confusing when talking about your job.

  • Since H has a weird fascination with TK, he's probably going to come home today and say, "So, what did you laides talk about today?"

    "Whipping babies."
  • I made a joke in an AYG a while back about Nates not knowing who I was (going back to the SB HO thread). It didn't go over well. A whole bunch of people thought I was secretly RJ/Yoda. Oops.

I like it when Natesy comes around here.
  • Not using the word secretary is too much coddling for me.  It's like a participation medal in sports.  Oh, some people think less of a secretary?  Here, we'll just change the name so people think it's a more important job.

Not saying I don't think it's important.  Right now I'm a secretary one day a week.  They tried calling me an administrative assistant and I laughed.

  • Wow... macegate continues on.  That was a bit of an exhausting read.

For those who wonder, bear spray can actually work up to 15 meters away, and is a detractant.  It doesn't usually harm the bear, just throws them off you for a second so you can have a chance to get away.  Most bears don't want to be anywhere near people and simply making noises while going around blind turns and up hills while in bear country will scare them away.  Sometimes you piss them off and they bluff charge you.  That would suck.
