Photographer w/o package

I'm looking for a photographer for 3 to 4 hours. We're having a DW and an at home reception (AHR). We want a photographer at the AHR to take professional pics of FI and I with people who couldn't make the DW (grandparents, extended family, friends) but we don't need a full package. The AHR is just a casual cocktail party so I don't want to spend a lot of money on the photograher. Looking to spend around $300. Any suggestions?

A lot of photogs that usually work with packages also have a la carte offerings. For example, Laura Ivanova has various smaller packages, like her "just married" package for about $475 for 2-3 hours. She's awesome!!

I agree with PP. If there is a photographer that you like, email them your situation and ask them what they would charge, I'm sure most photographers would do it. The only way I could see them declining is if you plan on having the AHR on a Saturday where the photographer could potentially have a full day weddnig and make a lot more.

Thanks for the suggestions ladies! Our reception is on a Saturday and a lot of photographers say on their sites that Saturdays are reserved for weddings, which I'm guessing means they want to book a package. I mentioned to my mom that we might have trouble finding a photographer and she told me she has a friend who does photography part-time. Her friend has agreed to take photos for a few hours and sell us the digital rights. Still waiting to hear her pricing but hopefully this works.

Try www.snapgrinphoto.com. They have a 4 hour package for $500. This might work for you. Or else I suggest sending them an email to ask them doing 3 hours for less! GL!
