Snarky Brides

Good morning, all

Yesterday, we had a little bat clinging to the bricks outside our door.  We watched him and as night fell, he didn't fly away.  He finally flew about 25 feet to the middle of our street and started walking down the street.  H got his leather work gloves, picked up the bat and took it to our neighbor's birdbath.  The little guy drank some, so then H put him in our tree.  He climbed around a little and showed more signs of life.  H tried to give him some sugar water, which the bat drank, then we finally went inside.  The bat's still hanging there this morning.  I think he's dead.  Frown  I think we need to call animal control because there's been several reports of rabid bats in CO.  All our animals are up to date on their shots, but I really don't want either of our kitties snacking on dead bat.

As for work, they have me doing stuff that I haven't been trained for and I'm stumbling along, probably doing waaay more detail than I need to, but I wouldn't know how much they need.  I went to go ask yesterday afternoon and the people who assigned me the task were already gone for the day.  Sigh.  They said we usually farm this stuff out, but we're trying to save money.  Happy joy for me.

Good morning. I slept a little too well last night. Our bedroom was the perfect temperature last night. I probably could have slept for 3 more hours.

Not much going on here. Now that I have more free time, I think I might actually get on Pinterest. My sister was singing its praises to me yesterday, so I think I'll make the plunge. I just don't want it to take over my life. Pinterest people: any tips? I don't want mine to look like a clusterfuck of random shiiiit.

ETA: I wasted way too much time last night watching these golden retriever puppies. <---clicky

My mind is blown, I had no idea bats walked.

That sucks, I hate when you're expected to do things you have no idea how to do.

This is my last day of work this week, so because of that, I know it will creep by.

Mehg, you can categorize your boards on Pinterest however you want. Feel free to check mine out. But basically, I have a board for food, hair, wedding, house shite, crafty shite, etc.

BTW, where in VA are you?

  • celtic - I once had a friggin' ah-mazing Vietnamese banh mi sandwich from a food truck in Seattle. It was the perfect amount of spiciness and the flavors worked really well together. Great, now I want one lol. The only other thing I've had from a food truck was a soppy burrito in Kodiak. It tasted pretty good, but the texture threw me off.

  • Morning ladies!

BK- sorry about the little bat. He looks so vulnerable.

I slept too well too Megh. As far as Pinterest, I usually limit my time there, There is a lot of duplicates so I search for new things I havent seen. I have a lot of crafts, recipes and home ideas. Look me up. Also, try and follow Nebb she is the expert.

Today is nothing special, just another hump day. Two more days till our corporate visit. I have to be here early, but at least it's my short day and I get off at 2. I need a nap already :)

  • Morning all.

I can't agree more about not pinning spam.  So many people I follow pin fitness stuff that is just a load of garbage.  So annoying.  And don't pin a google image.  I find that super annoying too.

Anyway, I slept like crap again last night.  Our dogs have taken to whining every hour to go outside and run around and bark at shiiit.  It's pissing me off.  There is nothing wrong with them.  They don't need to go out.  They are not sick.  They are just being asssholes for the sake of being asssholes.  It's been like this for over a week and I have no idea why they have all of a sudden started doing it.  I have no clue what to do about it either.

Queen of pinterest, reporting for duty. My first tip would be to start out small food, diy crafts, funny stuff, clothes, etc. Then once you're getting bigger, divide them up, make a board for desserts and move them out, etc. Don't worry about knowing in advance all the boards you should or will have cause it will happen organically. Make sure you put in a proper description, and try to stay away from the "omg I love this" trend. Obviously you love it or you wouldn't repin it! Also, follow me.

maybe you're pregnant. ;) Looking back, Levi totally knew before I did. ha

Seriously though, that sucks. We've been trying to 'retrain' the dogs a little now and let them sleep upstairs at night. (We usually keep them in the basement whiel we're at work and at night.)  And they're fine for the most part, but once in awhile they're just absolutely nuts.  The weather doesn't help since they refuse to go outside and wear each other out.

  • Morning all, so sad about the bat but mucho kudos to you and your husband for trying to help the poor little guy.  You're right about your kitties though, keep them away!

Project for this week is finalizing honeymoon plans, our travel agent said that we should have hotel reservations in place by August because they really start to book up in that area (FL Keys) after that so I'm working on cranking that out and am a little stressed about it.  It's a big area that I'm trying to learn everything about in a very little amount of time.

Also, on the note of Pinterest, there should be a spot on each board for us to share links to our boars for extra inspiration!  Sometimes when I'm scrolling through Wedding and Events page on Pinterest, it always seems like the same stuff!

And we need some storms in our area too, it was supposed to (55%) chance last night and did NOT.  My flowers and yard are DYING!  Might rain again tonight so fingers crossed :)

Another pinterest tip, follow a lot of people. You spend way more time on there when everything is just kind of handed to you. You also have more volume to look at if the people you follow are big guys, the top pinners, you can find them on repinly. Also, if you search for specific things and find stuff you like, make sure to check out the rest of their boards cause they might also be good. Also, people in the popular pins section, aren't necessarily top pinners, sometimes they hardly have any pins at all so don't bother following them.
  • Steph, ha ha I wouldn't necessarily be complaining about that...

I would just let them whine it out until they go lay down but H gets annoyed and goes and lets them out, so now they know he will eventually get up and do what they want.  They're about to start sleeping in their room with the door shut while momma has in ear plugs if they don't knock it off.

Yeah, we've already been on a ban in our area for awhile now. I water my flowers at least every other day. But, the yard looks like hell.

  • Hey guys.  I'm at work like an hour earlier than usual waiting for a phone interview.  I haven't applied makeup yet and feel naked.  If these sons of bitches don't call I will probably cut someone.

I have a question.  The boards are kind of boring lately, outside morning threads and a thread that maybe sparks a good discussion like what - once or twice a week?  This morning while I was blow drying my gorgeous hair, I wondered - do we love each other enough to do an SB Roast?

I think it could be fucking hilarious and it could be a different spin on the more traditional love fest, lol.  Course there might have to be some ground rules or something.  I'm just talking out of my ass at this point.

Our city is battling with the water supplier for one of the suburb areas. Apparently people out there are getting little to no water pressure. Like trickles of water because the supplier can't keep up.

  • Oooooh... yeah that's bad.  I was 5.5 and 6.0.  And I can empathize - the reason I got lasik was because I was getting more eye infections no matter how clean I kept my contacts, so I'd have to go a week or two wearing my damn glasses.  They were such a pain in the ass at the gym.  Sliding down my nose while I'm running.  Wtf.  And as vain as I am, I really hated wearing glasses.  I hated how I looked in them and they were so thick, it didn't matter how cute the frames were.  My eyes looked all beady and small.
    panther
  • I like my new glasses, but I hate having to wear them all the time.  Do either of you have to wear reading glasses now that you've had lasik?  My mom had it done a few years ago and she has to wear reading glasses now, but I can't remember how bad her eyes were before the lasik.
