[QUOTE]In Response to Re:Confessions/Unpopular Opinions: I have zero desire to be a mother right now, but opinions like this bother me. If they want to be mothers now and can be great ones as you say, why not? I cannot stand the 'enjoy being young' mantra. I rarely go out to the bars, never go to the club, and it has nothing to do with having a child or not. Some people just don't enjoy that lifestyle. Don't get me wrong, I go out on occasion wih my friends and H and I enjoy our date nights. I just think too many people assume everyone should enjoy their early 20s in the manner which they did or else those people are missing out.

<div>I didn't say a single thing about going to bars or being crazy, nor did I imply that people need to spend their 20s the way that I did. I said I personally think that the devoting the past couple of years to figuring out my career, how to manage my money, and generally how to be an adult who's not consumed by being in school has been really, really important. Yes, I'm also thankful I've had this time to do whatever I want, but I was referring more to traveling, trying new things, and developing an adult relationship with my BF that didn't revolve around being parents.</div><div>
</div><div>Do you really think that you're every bit as mature and prepared to be a parent at 22 as you are at 27-28?</div><div>
</div><div>I mean, I'm just some stranger on the internet, people can do whatever they want. I'm just stating my opinion on it. I know plenty of people who are great young parents. I'm just offering my view on why it might be valuable to wait a couple of years. </div>

  • I confess that spending 4 days with 5 children between the ages of 6 and 5 months made me think twice about having a child.

I confess that I am SUPER excited that BF's company may be opening an office in Texas and I really want to go there but I have a bad feeling that we are going to end up doing EVERYTHING at once (ie: get engaged, get married, make a huge move, buy a house, have a kid) all in the span of like 2 years like other people we know and I'm terrified.

I confess that I really want to go see Magic Mike because I need to see Channing Tatum half nekkid ;)

I didn't say YOU did. I said some people feel that way. And in my experience I'm more mature than plenty of 27 year olds out there, so I think saying one person is ready for marriage/kids at a certain age doesn't mean everyone that age is. I just dont feel it makes sense to base any major life decision off of a person's age when there are numerous factors NOT dependent on age that matter first.
