Snarky Brides

Anyone bored?

I am!  And stuck at work until 10...some entertainment puhlease!  What's new with everyone?

Let's see, last night upon drinking heavily with friends at our local bar, ironically enough, FI and I got asked to be in a threesome/possibly foursome.  I wasn't sure whether to be flattered or totally weirded out because of the people that were asking...good friends of ours.  Anyhew, we declined, just not our cup of tea I suppose.

I got my crinny today and ordered purple dye...so that should be interesting.

Anyhow, that's all I've got for total randomness, who's next?

  • oooh, good luck with the dying process - that'll be so cool when it's finished!

I'm only here for a few minutes, then H & I are going to get some dinner.  Then he's going to a show, so I'll probably  be back.  Fascinating, huh?   I could tell you about our weeding earlier today, but you may not be able to handle the excitement.

  • Why would it be a threesome or a foursome? Was it a couple or just one person that was propositioning you?
  • that kind of stuff never happens to us!  We get told, pre-emptively, not to even think about it.
  • It was one person and he wanted to either join or have him and his SO join.  He was a little up in the air...and highly intoxicated.

It was just so weird!  He's a really good friend of FI's and neither one of us thought he would consider something like that.  It was all good though, we ended up laughing most of the night because it turned into a hilarious convo.
  • Ah. Okay. I see now. Wow. That is interesting. So, it was a really good friend of yours? How did you handle it? Did you laugh it off? Did you consider it? I'm intrigued.

  • Oops. Just ignore my last post. I see you've already answered all of my questions.
  • I am going to go clean my car out. It's horrible. I haven't cleaned it in 6 months or more. I also need to go to the store and buy hair dye. I can't deal with this mousey brown anymore. I won't be able to get to a salon for a couple of months. I need to run and do my insanity workout. This should keep me busy for a while!

Well, he is a good friend/old co-worker of FI's.  We thought he was genuinely kidding around at first and then when he went in to get a beer, I told Ray that I thought he was actually being serious.  Ray said, yeah he was.  So then it was kind of awkward...and then he got kind of weirded out once he realized we weren't down for anything like that.  Ha!  Then we started talking about what exactly is "done" or "not done" during something and what "rules" would be hypothetically so to speak.  We were just honest with him, while it's intriguing it's just not something we would consider for weird-ness factor afterwards and whatnot.  Ya know?  Wow, that was confusing!
  • I just think it would piss Matt off if one of his friends started talking about that stuff. He's too jealous of a person to think of it in any way other that "this guy wants to fuuck my wife. He must die".

See, I wear the jealous pants in our relationship lol.  But Ray said he would never want another guy to touch me and I feel the same way with another girl and him...this is partly why a threesome just isn't in our future.  HA!

I think that would be Scott's reaction too. At the very least he would be really uncomfortable hanging out with that friend. It's one thing to say your wife is hot, another to really want to do her. (In his world at least)
  • I think Matt and I both wear the jealous pants in the house.
  • Ricky got really pissed when I told him OUR friends invited me to a threesome. I thought they were pretty disrespectful for asking. They were sober.

  • I'm here, also totally bored and in PAIN.  Scott came home yesterday (yay!) and I wore a cute outfit (including heels!) to the airport... and then I ate shiit in the parking garage.  My knees are KILLING me, and they are all scraped up and disgusting.  Whoo.

Now I'm sitting on the knot waiting for Scott to come home.  I feel like a sad puppy waiting for it's family to get back. Undecided  9 weeks in Uganda was way too long and now I'm all clingy.
  • When I was with exbf my friend and her husband invited me for a threesome. I didn't go, but her husband didn't understand why I didn't want to hang out at their house anymore. He was also the one who came to my wedding, then sat in his car the whole time watching tv on his phone.

Umm, just you?  That's not cool.
  • Kim I read your post wrong and was all sorts of confused. How did you eating crappy food in a parking garage result in you having skinner knees? Oh wait...eating shiit = falling, ok got it :)

My bil comes back from Liberia for 3 weeks on the 22nd. I'm kind of scared there's going to be a blow out because a lot happened while he was gone (dog died, daughter got strep, wife had another allergic reactiont to strep, house completely rearranged, etc) and he has a tendency to blow things out of proportion.
  • Haha, yes, I fell.  :D  It was incredibly graceful and not at all embarrassing.

I redid the bathroom while Scott was gone and I'm a little sad I didn't get MORE of a reaction.  I will just blame his "I like it." on jetlag.
  • Jetlag does horrible things.

The living room re-do is going to be drama because it's now built for socializing/tv watching instead of centered around video game playing. And...she kind of turned his closet in the bedroom into her shoe closet.

    Ruh roh!

Petra, he was doing an internship for one of his majors, global studies with a concentration on conflict studies.  He chose Uganda because I'm pretty sure its the only thing he loves more than me.  <img src="http://cdn.cl9.vanillaforums.com/downloaded/ver1.0/content/scripts/tinymce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-tongue-out.gif" border="0" alt="Tongue out" title="Tongue out" />
  • Yeah it should be interesting. Sil's stance is that bil lost his say in decision making at home when he voluntered for a 2 year stint in Liberia that was not required or encouraged at his job. He only left in May, but she's close to cracking already. Their 13 year old dog had to be put down, 4 year old daughter had strep on several occasions, she had an allergic reaction to strep resulting in having hives for the last 6 months, and she's still working her stint as a lawyer and getting no rest.

He called to complain that he was so bored the other day...I thought she was going to kill him through the phone.
  • Oh Kim, sorry about the fall, that's something I would do for sure.

Future-Mrs, that is so strange! I'm glad you guys were able to laugh it off, I would think coming from a friend that would be so awkward. Side note, I used to live in KC and go there all the time to visit friends and family. Are you from KC?

I am about to start on my 2nd martini and make chicken caprese for dinner. Scott worked from 6-3 today and is exhausted so it's a quiet night at home.

  • Ugh, that's shitty.  There were a few times where I felt like that, but he ended up with his absolute minimum amount of hours needed for the internship even with the 9 weeks (he ended up bouncing around to different nonprofits because his original place had no funding).  I did complain to him a few times that he just had to pick the place in a near opposite time zone though, which made communicating frustrating.

I think 2 years for a shoe closet is a fair trade.
  • Yeah. It's a 2 year stint with 90 days abroad, 14-30 days home. He could have picked anywhere with a US embassy after he volunteered to go. His first choice, Afghanistan (Sil almost killed him instantly), so he settled on Liberia. I don't think it would have been as bad if he had chosen a European country where Sil and their daughter could have visited, but Liberia....
  • Scott could have chosen any country, as long as it was outside of America.  I KNEW Uganda was really the only option in his mind, but I still tried to convince him to go to Canada.  ;)

I do not think I could do 2 years.  Especially with a kid.  Yikes.
