I can't pick between amber or purples... help me!

I mean amber is timeless, looks like candlight, and makes everyone look yummy.... but purple is just like WOW and so cool looking.

So what do you think is better?? I dont want to go back and look at my pics and think what was I thinking? So amber or purple?!

edit- this is the link of ALL the colors I have to pick from.... there are 8 million options! So I might need help to pick a purple from these... no sense making it a whole new post though. so people who picked purple, which is all of you, help me pick a purple from all the purples listed

I voted purple because I had blue and liked it

Unless your photog makes a point of capturing the lighting, the camera flash will cancel out the lighting effect. Just FYI to tell her you want pics of the room/lighting.

I am all over that MH.

See I love the purple too, and it will be stunning, and a real wow factor, but I just second guess everything anymore... but I was going to tell her to make sure she captures the lighting though in some pics.

NOrmally I'm all about amber because of the warmth in brings.

HOWEVER, I think your weddings is going to have a little more modern vibe, so I say purple.

Haha, to each their own :-). I think purple makes the room a lot darker, and just wouldn't be the look I would be going for. But YOU are the one that has to like it :-)

Oh yea I am going to pick one of the lenses that lets more light through so it won't be too dark. and I am not normal, not like that is new, so I like to live on the edge and be different

I have to agree with BP -- mostly b/c I love amber lighting. For me it's more romantic, but I understand that your reception might be a more modern vibe!

Also, every skin tone looks good in amber lighting!

If you are going for a modern look I would go for modern.

As for amber being timeless I don't think uplighting is timeless personally...

B2B - can i ask who you are doing your uplighting through?
I've seen a lot of this recently, and kind of love the look of it, but it's pretty close to my wedding dayy...15 days to go (nothing like waiting till the last minute).

Not too much extra IMO and dont worry I just added lighting today... 29 days out

My lighting person talked me out of amber.. She said it makes everything look duller in the room. So I vote purple.

I used to do lighting for a theater company and if you went with PURPLE or a darker color it will create more drama and it will also come out better in your pictures.

I vote for amber because that's what I used. I was told my a few of my vendors that amber makes everyone look better in pictures. It still is a wow factor even if you go with amber

Thanks guys! I am going to do a purple, but a lighter one, I want a lens that lets more light out. I will talk to the guy at my dj company to see what color would be best for the effect I want.
