Vases vs. Jars

So since fi's and my finacial situation has changed, I've been thinking of how to reduce our wedding costs. I was debating of instead of buying vases for our tables if we could replace them with jars (I have a crap ton from all of my cooking and they're about the same sizes, just not as fancy). It'd help us save. What do y'all think? (Sorry, no pictures as this is just an idea and I don't have them all ready in terms of trials)

Re: Vases vs. Jars

  • I think jars are fine depending on how you plan to use them. Are they like mason jars? Being from the south A LOT of people use mason jars to decorate. Maybe if you have a picture of the jar we can help with some ideas!

They're not mason jars, more like random leftover ones from other such (IE - spaghetti sauce, jelly jars, and Starbuck drinks). It sounds weird and I'll get a pic soon as I can.

That helps. And helps me rigure out how to get the dang sticky glueness off the glass too. :D

Julyet - that helps me feel better about the decision. :) And that reminds me that I still need to do the handle of my bouquet.  />.< It's been chilling in a coffee cup of mine.

re the jars...let the idea marinate some and just browse for some ideas.  I bet something will click sooner rather than later and you'll have a fabulous centerpiece.  If i come across any ideas i will be sure to share! the site tigergirl recommended is a great start!
