• I dind't know therewas a whole Fifty Shades series. I really don't know anything except that it is erotica that is suddenly popular for some reason. If it is fan fiction, fans of what?

• What are you currently reading? The Girl That Kicked The Hornets Nest I had a hard time getting into it, but I've finally hit the point where I'm really liking it. I feel like that's how I was with the whole trilogy though What was the last book you read? Fifty Shades Freed I kinda feel like they sold out by the end of this book. Definitely not the best book I've ever read but it was quick simple read and I enjoyed the series What's next on your reading agenda? Unorthodox A friend recommended it to me and it seems like an interesting read. It's about a women who is an Orthodox Jew who leaves her Hasidic community
I read the whole fifty shades series.  They are pretty dirty.  Plot line is sacrificed for some hot and filthy sex scenes.  I can't believe they are making a movie out of it.   I admit I enjoyed them for entertainment purposes, but I'm baffled as to how they're going to make a movie that isn't porn.
Posted by kodakitty
<div>Um, What?? They are making a freaking movie out of the series? I would also like to know how. I have read about half of the first one, and it is interesting as in I have have never read anything like it before. But I also agree the writing style occassionally bugged me. AND the name Katherine Kavanaugh because it 100% sounds like a made up name. Stupid. </div>

You must be supremely talented at writing book reports. At least the books were very well written though. And Beauty's Capture seemed to have some other underlying themes of human struggle with circumstance than just sex.

Ha, I guess I was.  I think the only person in the class that knew what they were actually about was my best friend.  Did you read Exit to Eden?  I really liked that one as well.

• What are you currently reading? I am currently between books.

What was the last book you read? I read the 8th book of the janet Evanovich series. It was pretty much the same as the rest, but entertaining and easy to read. Before that, I finished the Steven King Dark Tower series, which is kind of like a Lord of the Rings type journey, but the ending of the series just left me in a weird state, and frustrated.
What's next on your reading agenda? Probably some freebies on my Kindle. Sorry I don't have much to offer in terms of current/future reading right now!

I may have. It was a long time ago. I'll have to read the description. If not, I'll add that one too. DH will wonder what the hell I am reading!

What are you currently reading?
I am reading Salem's Lot and Song of Susanna by Stephen King both at the same time.
they are vaguely related so it makes sense... sorta

What was the last book you read? I read Wizard and Glass by Stephen King and The Stranger by Albert Camus which was amazing.

What's next on your reading agenda? I have pre-ordered Wind through the Keyhole
already but it doesn't come out till February so I'm gonna have to find something.  I'm thinking perhaps trying the Stand again.  I only got halfway through last time. arg!

and yes, there is a trend here. :P

KateJ10 I know exactly how you feel about the ending of the Dark Tower Series.
I pretty much cried through the whole last book.

• What are you currently reading? The Wise Man's Fear: The Kingkiller Chonicles by Patrick Rothfuss.  It's the second book in a trilogy.  I read the first one because a friend recommended it and it was really good.  It's a fantasy type book which is not usually my thing but I really liked it.
What was the last book you read? The Handmaids Tale.  I actually really enjoyed this one; it's especially interesting to read in light of all the current women related policies that many are currently in the news.  Kind of makes you think about what could be.
What's next on your reading agenda?  I am beyond broke right now (wedding expenses adn all that) so I am trying to just pick up what ever free kindle books amazon is offering.  I'm hoping they offer some really good beach reads between now and when we leave for our honeymoon.  I may break down and spend the money on Divergent though.  I've heard many good things about that one.

• What are you currently reading? Game of Thrones and The Knife of Never Letting Go. I was having a rough time getting into Game of Thrones. It's pretty meh and so far I don't see the hype. Maybe I will when I'm done the books. The Knife of Never Letting Go was slow to start because the writing style annoys me. It's about a 12/13 year old boy who wasn't taught how to read or write so he talks really poorly and the author purposely misspells things.

What was the last book you read? I think it was Divergent. I can't wait for the next one.

What's next on your reading agenda? Not sure if itll be one from the other series' I'm reading, Insurgent, or a nonfiction book.

• What are you currently reading? I just started reading the Alice in Wonderland series this weekend

What was the last book you read?  How to Make Love like a Pornstar by Jenna Jameson; it's her memoir and it was pretty well written. Before that I read the Immoral Life of Henrietta Lacks.

What's next on your reading agenda? No clue. Maybe Jen Lancaster's new one
Anniversary

• I'm currently reading Stirred by Blake Crouch and J.A. Konrath. It's a thriller, and I'm not normally a thriller fan, but this one sucked me in. Prior to this book I read Into the Free by Julie Cantrell. It was one of the best books I've ever read.

• Nothing right now. Irresistible forces by danielle steele. Great book.

• What are you currently reading?  Certain girls by Jennifer Weiner

What was the last book you read? Good in bed by Jennifer Weiner

What's next on your reading agenda? I have a whole stack of books sitting here from the library that I've got to get to reading. Who knows! :)

• I flew through the entire serires of Fifty Shades. I do agree it's not well written, but it was GOOD. It was porn on paper, but the good kind. Let me tell you, it will spark your libido faster than watching actual porn. And....it's more than that there is a love story and a woman coming of age story in there also, don't worry. ;)

I think I'm going to go back to what some people call the classics, but I've never read, To Kill A Mocking Bird, Hamlet, ones like that for a chance of pace. Plus I'll look for more romance/erotic books because I'll admit it proudly, I love 'em.
Love & Joy, Kristin :)
