When I originally went in to try my dress on a few months ago, I tried on a size 6 and it was about 3 inches too small.
I went back this weekend to buy the dress, and the sample size 6 was sold so they had me try a 16, which was obviously too big.
I've gained about 10 pounds since I first went dress shopping. The girls were discussing my measurements and they weren't sure if they should order a 10 or a 12 for me. I ended up agreeing to a size 12.
My mother and MIL think a size 12 would be way too big, so my mom called the shop back today to change it to a size 10 - where they proceeded to argue with her that I really should be a 12. (I asked my mom to call because she's buying the dress, and she offered).
Did I make a mistake to change it to a size 10 from a 12? Did anyone here regret getting a bigger size dress? Or order a dress that was too small?
Relevant details: It's a lace-up back, if that matters at all.
