  • Sara stole mine. That entire argument was stupid. Obviously the canadians know no more about US cities than the americans know about Canada cities.
  • I was really surprised at how much personal info people shared in the post about bad things parents have done to them.

I agree with Alix that it seems like everyone has been tense or something this week.  I was just thinking today that people who normally make me lol at my desk (Cew and Bec for example) have seemed kind of harsh this week.  It's a bummer.

I can't remember everything, but it was something about how spankings are okay because some kids only get violence at home, so that's all that they respond to. At least that's the part that made me do a double take.

I am not a teacher, nor do I ever want to be one and I guess its because I don't have the patience for students who don't care and parents who can't be bothered to discipline their own children before they send them to school.

I'm so lucky that the girls I speak to on theknot are nothing like you...I would've never come on here for ADVICE if I would've encountered a big a bitch as you. I genuinely feel awful for your children or your future children, and I think it would be irresponsible of YOU not to invest in their future therapy sessions starting now. That is what I said, but I misspoke (or mistyped). What I meant was that if corporal punishment is used at home and that's what the kid responds to, then I don't see a problem using it at school if other methods aren't effective. Yes, that sentence made me look like a monster, and when I re-read it, I totally get that.

My issue with this (not to threadjack) is that in SA, they did that. When I was about 8, I had to go to the bathroom really badly and my teacher at the time wouldn't let me until I'd finished my notebook assignment; so I rushed it and when I brought it up to her, it was messy because I was rushing, so she whacked me across the backside with a ruler and (ZOMG EMBARRASSING) I totally peed my pants. I have never forgotten it, in fact, I remember every single detail and all I got out of it was that she was cruel. It's totally wrong, IMO.
