I can hardly keep my eyes open.

Re: I can hardly keep my eyes open.

• Oh yeah, and I meant vaginal birth in my pp. I am not sure about the whole natural thing bc I don't do well with pain, but we will definitely check into it and talk to the dr about it when we get there.
• Okay, so LVB is pregnant and Kiki wants two kids, but doesn't care which hole they come out of. Is that about it?
In Response to Re: I can hardly keep my eyes open. : I delivered one naturally and one with an epidural, and if I ever had to do it again, I would go natural.  It was just an easier delivery.  You really have to work much harder when you don't have the full feeling of what's happening in your body, and it doesn't block everything...you're pretty much putting a bandaid on a broken leg.

I have heard that before esp from my cousin when she had her kids. I guess it will definitely be something to consider doing a little more research into.
• Oh geeze Ciara, that's awful. I'm so so sorry.

I fully plan on going natural, but we'll see. I WILL have a midwife and they just encourage you to do what YOU want, not what the doctor wants (within healthy parameters of course). I think they'll let you hvae the drugs if you want it, they just make you think harder if you really want it, rather than just offering it up like candy.
Ciara, what is Trisomy 13 exactly, and what do they mean by the "easy way out"?
Posted by kikibaby
Trisomy 13 is a chromosome abnormality that means there are 3 copies of the chromosome instead of 2. Cleft lip and palate is one of the birth defects normally associated with it and there are several more that come with it. Basically Edmund wouldn't make it to his first birthday. If the test comes back positive for it they are telling me that I shouldn't continue the pregnancy and should just end his suffering and mine now instead of later.

My heart is breaking right now for your Ciara.

And LVB - Congrats! I didn't want to ask bc I couldn't tell for sure from past threads.
• Georgia, I only want 1.  Keep up here.

Ciara, I'm sorry- what a terrible thing to even have to consider.  Don't even listen to anyone... that's a completely personal choice that nobody else should influence.  But, don't stress yet!  Sending positive vibes your way!

HA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
• The good news is that they didn't see any of the other defects on the ultrasound yesterday to confirm it. Plus all the other ultrasounds have been clear and everything has looked good. The high risk OB is pretty sure that it isn't Trisomy 13 and that is why we did the amnio. I would make myself a worry wart over the next 4 months if I had to wait that long to find out whether or not my child had a life threatening birth defect. I would much rather wait 2 weeks instead and then be able to prepare myself for what will need to happen whether its just the surgeries or whether its that he won't live very long.

• UGH. I'm going to kill Fishy. I'm not pregnant. Not in the slightest. I had a stomach bug the other night and asked hwo long it took meds to digest so I wouldn't go throw up too soon. Fishy told me to stop being pregant.

• LVBaby is only a twinkle in her eye as of now...but Fischy probably won't agree with that statement. Birdie and KYKate have the whole thing all planned out. LVB's poppin a baby out in the muddy field at the KY Derby!

• Ciara - I seriously can't imagine the thoughts running through your mind. However, you totally seem to have a positive outlook. I'm a big believer in happy thougts. I'm going to be thinking them.
• So I didn't read anything but this last page. I'm dying of boredom at work as well. People are dropping like flies and I think I just saw a dust bunny roll through.

Ciara, I am so sorry you are having to go through this. I haven't talked to you before but I have been reading your updates and I really hope you get some good news soon.

• It's so ok Missy. Unless you're name is Fishy. Then it's not ok

Florida - duh. However, I guess by the time LVBaby gets here, I should have moved on lol.
• Trust me I'm stronger about this whole thing then I thought I was going to be. The DR yesterday was just so reassuring that there was absolutely nothing wrong with him  and that he was going to come out perfectly heathly and only needing the surgeries. Plus the ultrasound DR was really helpful by commenting how adorable he was in the ultrasound.

• Oh goodness, Ciara.  I'm sorry.  I know we don't know each other and stuff, but I'm putting Edmund's name on a piece of paper and keeping him in my pocket, so I can send out good vibes whenever I see it and think of him.
• He got so much more playing time in Florida though! And we already have his FL jersey!
