As you all know, it's been a long, weird process for Rich and me in regards to letting people know about our relationship. We basically spent our entire relationship avoiding his coworkers, and avoiding my former fellow-students because our relationship started when I was his TA.
Long story short, a former fellow student of mine put the pieces together a while back. She lives in Germany, so we didn't think it would be an issue---but, she recently came back to the states to visit--and mentioned it to the professor she used to TA for, assuming everyone must know by now. Except they didn't. So, over the last few weeks, Rich has been meeting with his colleagues one-on-one to fill them in on our relationship and marriage--and, the feedback has been wonderful; everyone is truly happy for us.
The most reassuring part, however, has been that every person has been more than understanding as to why we kept our relationship under wraps.
And tonight, we made it Facebook official---which makes me feel like a high schooler!
