Happy Wednesday!

2

Re: Happy Wednesday!

  • I'd be shocked if H knew what flowers made up my bouquet arrangement, mostly because I don't even know. When people asked what kind they were, I just said "fake." But it had butterflies, that I remember clearly.
  • Morning all! Today I'm working, then having a dinner party with FI & my friend's. I haven't seen their son since he was born in September. He's so cute from all pictures I've seen!

We're so glad for a little mental break. While my mom was being discharged from the hospital yesterday, his mom was admitted in the ER.... Nothing like having mom & FMIL in the same hospital at the same time!

  • Bay, sounds like you had a great night, that is so awesome!!!

Aleigh, I'm sorry you have to deal with that, I agree that BIL needs to grow up.  This is why weed needs to be decriminalized everywhere, there is no need to be in jail for that.

Adamar, I'm glad you got your plants! FI got me two large pots and seeds for parsley basil ad oregano so I can grow my own and make pesto. He also made a book, a story really, about how we got together, (how he "pined" over me, so cute!) and things we have done.  I was so surprised because usually I am the creative one!

Cfas I hope you have a great Valentine's day this weekend! We don't like the business either so we just make something, like lobster.
  • I think H could identify the roses in my bouquet, but I think that would be it.

My friend James did our flowers for the wedding (he works in the floral industry), and he was telling me this morning how he always feels bummed on V-day because all of the guys he's ever dated are all too intimidated to buy him flowers because he's in the business.  My BIL feels the same way about buying my FSIL jewelry because she works for a jeweler.

  • Sesh, I forgot you worked on Sunday.  You must be so ready for the weekend!

Baby talk, I love baby talk.  Habs, you have a keeper.  Enjoy him!
  • I only had two types in my bouquet.  Most were Calla lilies with a little bit of fresia mixed in.

  • Holy crap, I cannot keep up with this conversation.  Posts keep vanishing and reappearing and my last two posts are gone.

    This is so frustrating, TK.

  • Morning!

    Aleigh- sorry about your BIL

Bay- glad everything is going so well!

I am so tired this morning.  I woke up unexpectedly around 4:30 and couldn't fall back asleep for the longest time.  Luckily I don't have to be at work until noon so I can relax here on the couch for a while before I have to get ready to go in.

My mom was telling me on the phone the other night that one of my cousins (who is 20) wants to get married this summer, and it's causing my aunt to freak out.  Based on what my mom told me my cousin has some unrealistic expectations about how things will pan out (like her mom & dad paying for car and insurance after she's married).  Neither of them has a job that could pay the bills, which I think is what's probably causing my aunt the most stress about it all.
  • AHH!  1.5 months Ranch!  That's awesome!

  • Morning!

Adamar, I'm jealous of your lemon tree. My mom has a few citrus in her front yard but whenever there is citrus blight down south the county takes them away. I think she might have finally given up and just planted stone fruit instead.
  • Good morning!

Meg -- Agreed on the pot thing. It is so silly.

But I hope your BIL gets things figured out, Aleigh!

I am so glad yesterday is over. Probably the worst Valentines day on the record books for me. Nothing J related, just a really crappy day. I felt kind of bad because when I iChated with J before bed, i was SUPER crabby and wished I was in a better mood for V-day. Ah well, its a new day.

  • *HUGS* Musu :(  I hope today is better for you.

  • Aw thanks Bay! :) I am really glad to hear your V-day went well, it put a smile on my face as I was reading your post!

  • Since I'm actually around for an active good morning thread...thought I'd pop in.

We had a good night - I came home to a firelit "picnic" on my living room floor.

I'm thankful I'm halfway through the week and I have a 3-day weekend.

  • Seriously, I was so surprised when I came home from school.  I have been asking for a lemon tree for a REALLY long time, and he didn't want one because he thought it would bring fruit rats or something like that.  I'm just lucky the orchids all looked crappy at Lowe's.  That's been my v-day present for a couple years now.

  • A lemon tree sounds so cool. I don't think something like that would survive here, though, heh.

  • I've never heard of fruit rats and I used to live in an orange grove.
  • musu, I want to jump on the love your wedding pictures bandwagon.  They are truly stunning.  Sorry you had a not so fun v-day.  I am coming to Bloominton Minnasota the first weekend in March for a sisterfest!  Any recommendations for good food?

I was thinking the same thing. What on earth are fruit rats? Are they the same as roof rats?

Yep.  According to UF they are the worst and most abundant rodent pest in Florida.

Thank you! Good food eh? Are you willing to venture outside of Bloomington? It isn't too far from downtown Mpls and St Paul, where more good food is. Some of my local favorites are Rock Bottom Brewery (though I've heard they are a national restaurant too so not sure if that is as interesting), Yarusso's which is a small little Italian place in St Paul but it is family owned and AMAZING, Brasa has great organic food and they have a location in both Mpls and St Paul, Pazzaluna in downtown St Paul is great. I've also heard great things about Manny's Steakhouse if you're looking for something ultra nice.

  • Also, since you will be close to the Mall of America in Bloomington, if you choose to go there, they have a lot of restaurants to choose from. I don't know that any of them are amazing, but I think CRAVE is pretty good and that is in the MOA.

  • Woot, Woot, now you have me hungry.  We (my sister's and I) are flying in for a long weekend of eating, sisters, shopping, sisters, games, sisters, and, of course, giggling and fun.  We will be venturing down into the city and I will take your recommendations with me.  Thanks.

Damn you TK.  Stop eating my posts!  Yes, they're the same thing.  According to UF, they're the worst and most abundant rodent pest in FL.

OH and Pizza Luce is great too, for more inexpensive but still yummy pizza or other italian american fare!

  • I'm sleepy but good.  I've been battling insomnia for a few weeks now.

Instead of cursing it out, I've put it to good use.  I folded 31 origami cranes last night for the wedding.  50 done (in total) 950 to go.  oy.

Good thing I'm surrounded by boxes of girl scout cookies.  Sugar is my friend today.

  • Morning!

H has never once been romantic on Valentine's Day. Ever. I might get a card.

Last night, I came home from class (it was my super long day) kind of late. He left a trail of rose petals to the bathroom, where he had drawn me a bubble bath (also filled with rose petals), poured me some wine, lit a bunch of candles and was playing romantic music that played at our reception. There was also a big fluffy towel with a cute card.

THEN, he brought in a tray of enormous chocolate covered strawberries, cookies, a box of chocolates from the place we got our wedding favors and a little velvet box containing a set of amethyst earrings and a matching necklace.

I'm still quite surprised, considering that last year, he took me to Wendy's for Valentine's Day.

If you girls like Asian cuisine, I have a few suggestions.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Sawatdee.  It's Thai and there are a few locations all over the MSP area.

Or Pings if you like Schezwan (it's Downtown Mpls)
