I think I'd just never seen stretch marks that bad before (and I already have some myself too, but they're light).

I was already terrified enough after seeing my MIL's tummy. She had to have a tuck recently because the skin on her abdomen was so completely destroyed from having three ten-pounders that she kept getting infections in it.

I just went to the bathroom to try to take pictures of mine, but they're so old now that they're very faded.

I can't believe I was going to be ballsy enough to show those off lol. Too bad you can't see them.

I saw my mom's stomach a few times growing up and dude, seriously. NO WAY. She had three babies, all over 9lbs. I was nearly 11, older sister was 10ish and younger was 9 and change. Her stomach is baaaad.

KiKi, I have had 2 kids and my stomach NEVER looked like that. I don't have any stretch marks or anything. I say that to say, everyone's body is different and you might very well come out of this with no stretch marks at all.

Well...

since we're all confession-y today. I've had stretch marks and a belly like that since I was, oh, 16-18 years old? And it only got worse.

The weight went away with the surgery, but the stretch marks didn't. And my stomach didn't magically lift up. So, I could probably carry triplets and not get anymore stretch marks at this point. Mine are all the same color as my skin now.

If you're my friend on FB, there's a photo of a bruise (warning - it's a doozy) from my broken ribs. You can see stretch marks on my hip through the bruise if you're curious. I won't post, because I think it will ick people out.

Mine were at least that bad and I only had one baby. They do fade. You never look the same, but after awhile you also don't really care.

I'm not sure if it's possible now with more advanced surgery, but when I had mine done in 1982, I was warned that I would never be able to nurse. I looked at the surgeon and said, "And?" I was 15, nursing future bambinos was not on the brain :)

btw, nobody asked but I feel like sharing - I got some wicked stretch marks on my boobs too.. so if you're going to be applying anti-stretch mark cream, make sure you cover that area too..

I have stretch marks already, but mine are more on the sides. I've just never seen them all around the belly button like that. I don't need worse ones! Oh lawd oh lawd! Save me. haha

I'm really not very vain, but I'm just scared.

Stacks- the OB thing reminded me. I had the most embarassing moment ever at my appt last Friday. She told me to "hold up my stomach" for her. ::weeping more, not so silently::
