OKAY SO THIS IS THE THING
MY FUTURE HUBBY AND I WERE SITTING ON THE COUCH YESTERDAY AND HE SAID SOMETHING ABOUT IF I WANTED TO GET MARRIED SOMETIME! I SAID YES OF COURSE! (OF COURSE IT ISNT A REAL PROPOSAL BECAUSE HE DIDN'T GET DOWN ON ONE KNEE SO I KNOW I STILL HAVE THAT TO LOOK FORWARD TO!)
SO I JUMPED STRAIGHT ON THE KNOT AND DECIDED TO START LOOKING AT COLORS AND FLOWERS AND TRY TO FIND THAT PERFECT DRESS! I STUMBLED ON THIS COMMUNITY AND FOUND THE BOARD NOT YET ENGAGED (HERE I AM!) AND THOUGHT THAT'S PERFECT BECAUSE OF COURSE IM NOT ENGAGED BECAUSE HE HASNT GOTTEN DOWN ON ONE KNEE AND HE HASNT GIVEN ME MY TIFFANY ENGAGEMENT RING
HOW DO I GO ABOUT LOOKING AT VENUES WITHOUT THE RING? WONT THE PEOPLE WHO WORK THERE NOT TAKE ME SERIOUSLY BECAUSE I DONT HAVE AN ENGAGEMENT RING?
ALSO HOW DO I ASK HIM WHEN HE IS PLANNING ON PROPOSING SO THAT I KNOW IT FITS IN WITH MY TIMELINE? THE LAST TIME I ASKED HIM ABOUT IT, HE SAID HE WOULDNT TELL ME! CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT?! HE IS SO INCONSIDERATE! DO YOU THINK THAT MAYBE HE ISN'T SO SERIOUS ABOUT MARRYING ME AFTERALL? I AM JUST SO LOST RIGHT NOW AND I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO SO IM REACHING OUT FOR HELP!
THANKS IN ADVANCE!
Re: I HAVE THE FLOWERS, I HAVE THE COLORS, NOW ALL I NEED IS THAT BLING!
I really, really needed this laugh

LMFAO!!!
CONGRATULATIONS!! Don't worry about what the people at the venue's think... he said 'something about if I want to get married sometimes'... that's enough for them to accept a HUGE deposit!!
and you tell that slow-off-the-starting-line future husband of yours that if you're not engaged by Tuesday, you're dumping him because you need adequate time to find someone else who will marry you by YOUR wedding day!!
Ohhhh and what pretty colors did you pick!?!?! We're all DYING to know!! <img src="http://cdn.cl9.vanillaforums.com/downloaded/ver1.0/content/scripts/tinymce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-laughing.gif" border="0" alt="Laughing" title="Laughing" />
Anywayz, get yourself a ring and then start shopping away! If you're stressed about him not wanting to marry you --- DONT BE! He's just scared and probably planning a HUGE engagement surprise for you. Men are like that!!!
Now is the time for you to get on the ball, since you're here on the knot and posting you've obviously seen your "list of things to do" well GET STARTED. IMMEDIATELY if not sooner. I mean honestly you should have been working on things the day you started dating.... but it's okay to be behind. Everyone can't be on the ball ALL THE TIME.
You know what YOU want so just go with that. Your soon to be future baby daddy is just going to want you HAPPY at the end of the day. Since he's busy planning your engagement surprise think of how great it'll be when you surprise HIM with already completed wedding plans???!?!? He will be RELIEVED!!!
GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Why is there a need to make threads mocking other people (regardless of the stupidity of their actions)?
[QUOTE]Well this thread certainly seems catty. Why is there a need to make threads mocking other people (regardless of the stupidity of their actions)?

***hangs head shamefully**** Sorry loopy, I couldn't resist just because I needed to laugh! I'm all done now though....
:-)
Don't we have better things to talk about or do?
Aren't we taking this a little too far? Can't we be a tad nicer?
I feel like we're kind of kicking a dead horse.
There's been a lot of activity on this subject today.
My first post on here was a little crazy. I was lucky to have a couple of nice girls to calm me down. I was REALLY lucky I did it on my local board and didn't catch a bunch of flak for it, like most girls do here.
I understand everyone here gets tired of repeating themselves. I understand that everyone gets tired of arguing with posters about how their situation isn't that special. But aren't we going a little bit overboard?
I get the pent up aggression, but I like the idea of just pointing uber excited girls to a sitcky, and not belittling them and making jokes at their expense.
Now everyone hold hands and sign Kumbahya, dammit.
There's a huge difference between being honest and going out of your way to make fun of other people. The sticky suggestion thread already said everytihng that needed to be said. I would like to think that Narwhal and the other people on this board are above this sort of petty, dramatic behavior.
Even though I know you're just trying to have fun, this method of fun is hurtful to other people. It's nasty and unnecessary.

You're sick of hearing about this? A lot of posters on here are. You want to move on? Why don't you help move on by not commenting on every post you don't like and participate in other NR posts. We've got a lot going right now. Seriously. If you don't respond, and you post on other threads then these threads will get buried and go away.
[QUOTE]If there is anyone who sounds remotely like what I posted, they deserve to be ridiculed and probably kicked in the shins.

[QUOTE]Heyimbren...excuse me but I have posted 224 times and I think you are at 1267. You think I am contributing to these posts??? That's pretty funny.

Seriously? I've been around longer than you have. All I said was that if you don't want to talk about this, then don't. I've been posting in other threads too, which is a great way to move on from things and start other posts going on.
[QUOTE]You've been around longer? Take a look at the dates little one. I have been on the boards since 2008. You were probbaly sill in high school.

I've been posting consistantly longer. Where on earth did this attitude come from?
And no, I wasn't in HS then actually.
Bakes has been posting longer than Bren.
She just post infrequently, which would explain why Bren doesn't remember her posting before.
Seconding kumbayaya time now!
[QUOTE]In the interest of accuracy and preventing further drama: Bakes has been posting longer than Bren. She just post infrequently, which would explain why Bren doesn't remember her posting before. Seconding kumbayaya time now!

I don't care whether she's been here longer or not, to clarify. Pretty much everyone on here's been around longer than I have.
But everytime someone says "kimbaya" I always think of the Lion King and Hakuna Matata. I have no idea why!
Bakes - Bren is just saying that if you don't like a thread don't comment on it because then it will die faster. Every time you comment it brings the thread back up to the top of the list, so if you don't comment people probably won't take the time to scroll down far enough to see it and then you don't have to worry about it because the thread will die. Bren has made a lot of posts because she enjoys joining in on our discussions and giving advice. There was no need for you to be rude to her and use such condescending language in your response.
Thanks Desert
