[QUOTE]In Response to Re: Where is everyone?/Afternoon chit chat : I love dying my hair black, or close to it. My hair used to be darker and it keeps getting lighter, which pisses me off. I'm really bad at at-home dye jobs though. It gets everywhere.

It looked positively awful on me.  I looked like Wednesday Addams.  Not a good look for me.

Couple weeks, rach?  I was 15 though when I had mine out, and it was only one wisdom tooth (plus three molars and one tooth in the front, bottom row)

  • @DumDum...could you maybe freeze before hand and pull out a half hour or so before you serve?  At that point, they should be defrosted enough to eat.

Adamar, I really like that.  I would do the same thing if I weren't in an office setting.  For now, I have to settle for hidden tattoos.
  • Thanks AATB.  I'm pretty pumped about it.

I will never ever ever dye my hair black.  I'm way too blond for that.  Both of my parent's hair had turned dark brown by the time they were my age, so I'm clinging to blonde as long as I can.

  • I would love to do that dip dye! That's way cool.
But my principal doesn't like us to have brightly painted nails... the bright hair would not fly. It would be cool to do for summer though.
  • I had a bad experience with my wisdom teeth so it took a long time for everything to heal, at least 2 to 3 weeks. My mom has a water pick from when she had braces so I used that for cleaning.
  • Oh, hello everyone. I got totally distracted daydreaming about a possible honeymoon. H has always said from the beginning of our relationship that he'd never want to go on a cruise. But, he just suggested it. So now I'm SUPER excited. And looking at a million and one cruises.
  • I dyed my hair black for a play once. It looked kind of harsh with my skin, but not terrible. Now I go kind of auburn. I have A TON of gray. Ick.

So 4th of July is supposed to be nasty awful hot here. But we'll still do the usual parade and big get-together with friends. You are all going to be jealous of the parade: There will be at least 30 or 40 antique tractors! : )

Yeah it was a few weeks for me -- one of them got infected and had to be ripped back open ... unpleasan business I tell you.

  • Rach - it took mine about a month probably. Had my third of four pulled a year and a half ago. Still have one left.

I have a lot of gray as well -- particularly for my age. When I was a little kid I remember my mom, who was in her early 30s having far more salt than pepper in her hair and I suspect I'm going to soon be in the same boat. Highlights cover it great for now, but that's really just a stop gap measure that will only last maybe 5 more years. Then it'll have to be all-over color all the time.

But hey, it could always be worse! My twin brothers are turning 25 this month and both of them are damn near bald already.

    Weird genes I guess ...

I can dig antique tractors - I grew up on thatshit!   I saw this on my Facebook feed this morning - and yes, I follow John Deere on FB -

On the 4th I go on a "boat parade" with my in-laws.  Everyone on the lake decorates their boat with a bunch of red, white and blue crap and parades around the lake.  My FIL plays Lee Greenwood and Toby Keith.  It's pretty obnoxious.  I will be drinking lime-a-ritas!!

<div>I started to get a few when I was about 30; now it's a few PATCHES of grey. And they are these coarse, wiry suckers that have a mind of their own. Ick. My mom didn't greay until she was well into her 50s and it was kind of framing her face and looked nice. But I evidently am not so lucky. Sigh. Oh well. I'd rather be grey than bald!</div><div>
</div><div>Rachers, my wisdom tooth spots took about a month to really heal up nicely. </div>

[QUOTE]I have no grey, yet.  (only 25)  But I think my mom had to start coloring her hair to cover it in her late 20s/early 30s.  She now has to go every 2.5-3 weeks for a full color.  I fully expect that will happen for me too.  But my sister (4 years older) does not have grey yet as far as I know.

<div>H's family has a history of balding early. He's 25 and I'm sure by next year he will be shaving his head. His brother (18 months older) is not nearly so bad. He's also a lot taller than his brother, so everyone thinks H is the older one. </div>

[QUOTE]Ranch that does seem like a long time but maybe I'm just a quick healer?

I had to have a tooth pulled, the one right in front of the wisdom tooth.  It never did heal.  Instead my wisdom tooth is trying to escape through the spot the other tooth was.  it sucks.
  • AATB, love the pink Deere!

I actually like the parade. We have a city band and they bring out the firetrucks and different organizations make floats. It is very folksy but very fun. The whole town turns out for it. They did have to make a rule a few years back though that a tractor had to be of a certain age in order to be considered 'antique' enough for the parade. One guy has about 10 himself! He has all his grandsons drive them.

I'm a Farmall Fan over here. I love tractors and wish we had enough land to justify owning our own.

  • We need a new tractor.  We had an old John Deere, but then my dad took it apart and it's never gotten put back together.  The only way the lawn mower place was willing to sell my mom a new mower was if she promised that my dad wouldn't touch it.  He's great at taking things apart, not so good at putting them back together.

Yeah - that was my entire childhood.  The smalltown where my dad grew up.  It's all underwater now though so not much goes on for the 4th.  I haven't been back in maybe 5 years.

  • I want to go on a cruise but I'm afraid I'd get seasick and be miserable the entire time.

I'm hoping I get my hair from my mom' side of the family. My grandpa didn't start going gray until he was in his 60s or so. He says that's because of our Cherokee genes, keeps up looking young. I tend to believe him since he looks great for his age, as does my mom.

I think i had to do the cleaning with the syringe for a couple of weeks after.  The holes were still there for much longer than that but I guess it closed up enough that I didn't have to worry about food particles getting in and getting dry socket.

Men get grey hairs and they look distinguished.  Women get grey hairs and they look tired and sad and worn out.

    Those bastards.

I'm trying to find a pic of my great-grandpa's old co-op tractor now.  That biiitch is sweet.  He took a train to Minneapolis in like, 1935 I think and drove it all the way home.  Took him two days!  But it had a hell of a road gear and was passing cars on the highway lol.

    ETA - there it is!
