  I didn't look through the threads posted above, but I had my wedding at Keeley the Katerer's in Portland.  It's nothing fancy at all, but they don't charge a room fee if you order any food.  Their meals are VERY affordable, and the best wedding food I've had - even better than BIL's $100+/plate meal.  They do all the set up and clean up for you - you just show them how you want the tables decorated. 
  I was very happy with my reception there.  It was comfortable, not at all stuffy, and they do functions all the time, so things run very smoothly.

  We found the best locations through our caterer, The Blue Elephant Events and Catering. They had great ideas and really knew what we were looking for. They have been fantastic to work with. Give them a call and see if they can help you!

  Also check out Oceangate Resort in Boothbay Harbor. We really love this place. It's right on the water, they are a resort so all of your guess can stay for the weekend! Down by the water there is a gazebo where your ceremony can be held then up the hill is a deck where the reception site is. It is really a great place.

  I've been looking for months for locations, and we've settled on Jeff's catering in brewer. Great people, amazing food. Cheap cheap cheap! The reception hall isn't amazing, but they give you a lot of leeway with decorating.
