  • I think my mom still has those dresses in one of her closets.  My cousin just sent me that picture.  I may have snorted :).

OOH and you just reminded me that we get to eat our cake on Monday!  I have to remember to thaw it out on Sunday.

So far, I've made a post that disappeared entirely, one that showed up like 10 minutes later, and almost every time I refresh the page, the posts are entirely out of order. Oh, and once the entire page disappeared.

To be fair, we were all talking about how we liked puzzles so maybe it's just trying to make it a bit more challenging to follow.  Who needs a regular message board when you can have a jumbled mess to figure out?

  • Every once in a while I post or reload the page and there will be like 1 post in the whole thread, but if I refresh it again everything comes back.
  • I love all puzzles EXCEPT TK'S PUZZLES.

  • TK just wants to play, I guess.
  • Speaking of puzzles, what are those puzzles called that are like words and/or pictures, and it means a phrase of some sort, and you have to figure out what it means?

Like:    Cart Horse  would be "Cart before the Horse"

or: CCCCCCC would be "the seven seas"

    Anyone?

Complete with missing pieces and everything.

The last puzzle I tried to do was absolute torture. It was a gigantic (like, 6-patty) burger with lettuce and tomatoes and cheese and things. Some of the pieces were just glistening meat. It was horrible.

All the pieces left in my puzzle are green.  Just green.  And they all go...in different places.  It's making me angry.  I can only work on it for about 15 minutes at a time.

<div>We had this class in HS called "Freshman Focus". It was meant to be an introduction to HS class that should have helped the transition. But they gave the classes to a gym teacher that was semi-retired and didn't provide any kind of cirriculum. He was close enough to retired to not GAF, so he did those with us in class all the time. Our final exam was a word search. I am drawing a blank on the name but I'll let you know if I remember. </div>

Ugh, that's really frustrating. Usually when I get to that point, I'll force myself to sit there and pick one piece at random, then try to fit every single other piece into it. It takes freakin' forever.

Is the grass the last thing you have?  I have a tendency to save that ish to the end and then get upset when all I have left is the superhard part.

My mom and I once did a 10000 piece puzzle that was one whale and the rest blue ocean.  That one was a beast.

J&K - the only thing I've found that compares to lots of grass in puzzles is lots of leafy tree cover at the top.

Yeah, I'm about to that point, but that's where my frustration with my missing pieces (thanks cat) comes in.

My H was making fun of me, saying if we ever build a house I need a whole room for my puzzles and a team of people to sort them, because I sort all the pieces (first by edges and non edges, then I sort them by color or what they're part of), spread the groups all the fuuuck over the place, and then I sort my groups into smaller groups (like all parts of the roof, all windows, etc, of the same building) and then pick one group to put on my smaller table, sort those all in the right direction, etc.  It's a process, and it takes up a ton of space.  He watched me with wonder one night for about 45 minuntes.

Yup, I saved it for last because there was some OTHER green stuff too, and I knew I needed to get that in place, but first I had to do some other parts, so I just figured the fewer pieces in the mix the easier it would be.  Yeah, no not really.

That puzzle sounds ridic.  And awesome.

  • LaBella-- That puzzle sounds awful.

J-- I sort a lot, but not nearly as much as you do. That sounds like way more work than I'm willing to put into something that's supposed to be fun.
