In Response to Re: Let`s play a game! : Me. I've actually just started taking prenatal vitamins. I still have like 4 NuvaRings left, so I want to use all of those first before we start trying. I think it'll work out to around the time we get married is when we'll actually start trying. GPB- Have you always lived in NY?
    Posted by AudgiePodge
Yes. It's an amazing city and a great place to be from, but I want a change. BF and I are talking about grad schools, and no NYC schools are on the list. We both really want to head to Los Angeles. Other schools we are looking at are in Florida (Tallahasse), Boston and Philly.

Dreamer - Living IN the city is very expensive, but the outer boroughs (specifically Staten Island and Queens) have some really nice neighborhoods. You can also look into Long Island and the Hudson Valley - both are close in proximity to Manhattan.

Ember - I'm taking a few classes as pre-requisites to get into either a nursing program or respiratory therapist. I'm also applying to radiology school so *fingers crossed*. Radiology is my first choice but I'm looking at the other two as a backup.

motoLyn - I thnk it goes without saying that I have baby fever lol Wink
Paige - Good lord that is a long ass drive!! Haha If I come to Canada I'll meet you like 3/4's of the way. You should never ever drive 25 hours to OHIO - totally not worth it. lol. GPB - That is totally freaking awesome, I hope it turns into a well-paying job (or even a paying job) when you get done. I am jealous that sounds like a sweet place to be. Plus, I think you'll do wonderfully! HOM & CSC - Where are you both in Chicago? Like I said I'll be there for New Years weekend and I'll be in Wrigleyville. Come out and play with me!

That is SO COOL! What a great fun story you'll have! I cannot WAIT to see pictures! Are you going to bring up a personal camera to have someone take shots, or have someone on the ground take some photos? Both would be awesome!

Lyn - I also totally have baby fever. BF's sister is expecting in March, and she's only a few months older than me (though she's been married for almost 2 years), so it really triggered the fever for me. BF and I were at breakfast yesterday, and he caught me staring dreamily at a baby at the table next to us. He asked if I wanted a baby, and I said truthfully yes but not yet. And then I said that he was probably going to want to start trying before I was - and he had to agree! And then he said he didn't think I'd be hard to convince (and he's right). Still, it will be a minimum of 3 years for us before we start trying.

With all this baby fever talk, is it bad that I totally don't have baby fever? Sure I think they are cute, but I can totally give a baby back after holding them with no problem whatsoever.

Hazel you're good, not everyone has baby fever. Mine comes and goes, nothing ever serious. It just comes about when people comment how cute FI and I baby will be. Last Saturday I saw the cutest chubster baby. He had these bright blue eyes and a happy smile and baby chub rolls like the michelin man. But I know it'll be a while before FI and I have a baby. It be at least 3-4 years from now.

Lyn, I want a baby soo soo bad. My ovaries ache. I've been a step mom before and it was one of the most rewarding things in my life. FI and I are sorta trying...just in means of having unprotected sex. Unfortunately for me I think that it's going to take more than that. So we decided as soon as we get married and I'm on his insurance, then we shall go to the doctor to see what is wrong and what they can do. We both can't wait for children. That is going to be one of the happiest days ever when I find out that I'm pregnant and when I actually have a baby. Sigh...

I don't have baby fever but I think it's mostly b/c my FSIL is having a baby and I know that i can play with the baby and love it and cuddle it without getting myself KU. And I've rationalized it - I need a house before a kid. I want a house first. So no baby fever...lately.

Aww Coastie that made me smile and have the sads at the same time. I hope you get what you want soon. Yay, babies for everyone who wants one when the time is right.

Kath - It's okay not to be any help, I'm hearing Boston is fantastic more and more but you're right about the drive. You and I unfortunately live in what I consider to be the sh!ttiest part of the country. Boo. Did your FI not get the position in Pittsburgh?

Moo - I LOVE Pittsburgh. It's the same kind of thing I'm used to here (but with more to do) and hello my Steelers are there! It's like I'm being pulled there like an invisible force. lol.

GBP - Thanks for the help. I was ready to move into the city about 5 years ago but I just realized I couldn't deal with it. My uncle is actually right across the border in NJ so that's always a thought too. If you move to Cali - I'm coming to see you! I'm out there 2 times a year. :)

CSC - I <3 Chicago. This will be FI's first time there but I've gone a bunch. A lot of of our friends live there and that's why it's so appealing to us. We are staying until Sunday afternoon it looks like so maybe we can do it then? Ahh those drunken frat boys are probably our friends unfortunately. They can be a bit much sometimes!

CDE- If we move to Boston it will likely be closer to you than to Shoes. I have no desire to live IN the city - I'm totally a suburban snob. lol.

Babies are cute but I so deal with kids enough ALL day that I think I can handle not having one right now. We are talking about trying around April 2012 (assuming I am employed). It will be right after my licensure and I'll be making 2.5X what FI makes so it'll be a good time. Who knows? Haha.

FI and I have talked a lot about kids, but luckily we are both on the same page about waiting several years. I'm only 23, I don't need any babies yet.

He just turned two and I love babysitting him. So, he's my baby fix until we have one or my sister has one.

Everyone- Do you speak another language? If so, what? If not, what would you love to learn?

I understand a bit of Spanish, but I want to become fluent in it as well as American Sign Language.

I've taken 4 years of French but its been awhile since then so I only understand some. I'm better at reading though. I would love to learn Italian. I wanted to take it in high school but it wasn't offered in my school district :(
Bren- Why did you leave us for so long??
    Posted by coastiegrl25
I'm late to this, but I want to play!
I left for a while because I just felt like there was a lot going on in my life for a couple weeks, and I felt weird being on here for a while. But then when I stopped posting I realized how much I just enjoyed talking to so many of the girls on here.
People keep talking about taking finals... What are all the students majoring in? Is it a bachelors, masters, or doctorate?
    Posted by Ember01
Bachelor of Arts: Honours Spec. Political Science with a Minor in French.
Paige- I didn't know you took poli sci! I think I love you more now... if that's possible.
A question to the Knotties who are brave to answer this, who has baby fever?
    Posted by motoLyn
I'll be honest, it comes and goes for me. Not in a "OMG I WANT A BABY RIGHT NOW!" way but more like I wish I could just fast forward a few years to the point where I'd be ready to have kids. But then I realize just how many things that are going on for me right now that I love and all the opportunities I have at this age.

I speak French and I know a teeny bit of Spanish. Honestly, if I had all the time in the world I think I could devote years to learning languages. I'd love to learn some Latin sometime.

I speak Vietnamese right now, took French in high school and Spanish in college, I only remember a little from French and Spanish. I would love to learn Danish so that I can talk to FI's family. I know how FI feels when he comes with me to visit my family. No idea what either family is talking about.

Everybody - Who is in Canada? I know Bren and Paige are (and myself, obviously), but is anybody else?

Everybody #2 - Have you done/accomplished something unusual that you're proud of?

I'm getting my BA. I'm currently majoring in Psych and minoring in History, but I'm pretty sure that I'm going to flop my major and minor after next semester. I'm only taking 3 classes this year, each semester, but I took a full course load last year and went into school with a transfer credit from my IB History class in high school, so I'll be 1 credit behind. I figure I can take 2 summer classes to make it up, so I can still graduate in May of 2013. BF should be certified as a paramedic in a year.

I speak some very basic French. I haven't taken French classes in close to four years though, so I'm at the point where I don't speak it very well now. I can still understand a good deal of it though. I want to learn Russian at some point, but I doubt that will happen anytime soon.
