One of our clients that I do a lot of work for sends us these gift baskets sometimes.... and they used to send cookies and brownies? And now they sent Fruit Flowers baskets.  Which is hilarious, because the two people involved with the account (me and the sales person) are both allergic.  I can't have ANY fruit, and he's allergic to apples and melon.   But it's very nice of them to send it... because they definitely don't have to (and they're the only clients who do!) so we never say anything about us not being able to enjoy it.

[QUOTE]PS - a.lemma:  have you tried lactaid milk?  It's the best thing ever!   I'm also lactose intolerant.  but between lactaid milk and pills, i'm good.  i actually practically never do the pills, i just suffer.  did you also know that most cheeses are lactose friendly?  the main one that isn't is mozzarella.  all cheddars are lactose-free.

[QUOTE]Northstar - I don't blame you for wanting a traditional bday cake.  My bday is in March and most years H doesn't get me a cake.  I'm not a big cake/pastry eater so he doesn't think I want one... but I secretly do, just for the fun of it.  Plus, I can eat one slice and he can have the rest!

lol, oh DH knows I love pastries and I would totally eat the whole thing hahaha

North--cheeses that are aged generally don't have lactose in them.  The more aged the cheddar... the better it is for the stomach.  That's why you can't do mozz because it isn't aged at all.  They start out with lactose, because you need milk to make cheddar, but as the cheese ages, it loses the lactose.

I would try a cheddar that's more aged.  It'll cost you more.

I may or may not watch too much Food Network and America's Test Kitchen...

How can anyone be allergic to apples, that is random.  I love apples.

I am not allergic to bananas but they hurt my tum a little. :(  I love them though.

My birthday is in August, far from Xmas. I feel for the people tha have near xmas bdays, my friends bday is on Xmas but they give her separate presents, but I would think she gets less because of this.  People say, these are your bday presents, and a separate pile for xmas gifts.
