Wedding Jewelry

I just don't like dainty, sparkly jewelry. My dress is blush pink (photo on my profile) and I really want to do a modern, chunky necklace in a dark pink color. We are having a beach wedding, so I don't think it will look out of place (it's not a "virginal" white wedding

Ideas, thoughts? Any great designers/websites out there that make great modern jewelry?

I don't know about in Austin, but if you're ever in Houston you could go to Harwin. They have lots of jewelry there.

More chunky, I saw a bride in a turquoise stone necklace and the colour just stood out, it was beautiful. Price, I'm pretty open - around $400ish if it was exactly what I wanted. I saw one on Etsy that had the stones I'm looking for but not quite exactly. I've googled chunky necklaces, bib necklaces and given myself a bloody headache looking at all the photos.

Our colours are fuschia, chocolate brown with cream accents. My bouquet is fuschia orchids, fuschia callas and cream orchids. No veil, just one orchid in my hair.

You can also do an alchemy request on Etsy (under custom.) You can post a description of what you are looking for w/ price range, and sellers will bid on making it for you. I did this for my table # cards because I couldn't find any that I liked.

I like those stones too. Have you considered contacting that seller to see if she can make a chunkier/fuller necklace with those same stones? I bet she could.

Well, tbh, I think wearing the pearls with a beach wedding would be rather appropos-- and what girl can't use an amazing strand of pearls? If you like everything about it, but just have the "idea" that pearls aren't your thing, then maybe you just have to realize that liking something is really all you need. :) Kind of like always thinking you hated brussel sprouts, and then one day you had them on something and they were delicious.

I think it's just the thought of pearls that I don't like, but with the added colour and accents they can look very modern. I like subdued "crazy"...if that makes sense

So, these next ones are waaaaaay expensive, but they have topaz in them. I specifically searched for that because it would be a gorgeous accent to your color scheme and make you less... pink heavy.... I guess I would say.

Also, looks like she uses aquas, freshwater pearls (which give you the cool shape pearls instead of the round ones) and other precious and semi-precious stones.

I think I may contact the bling jewelry lady re: her ideas on a custom necklace, I love her stuff - I'm definitely getting the pearl one regardless of the wedding. My saturday afternoon is definitely going to spent looking at jewelry - FI gets to do the laundry. Love the ideas.
