I'm sorry, but poor little 9-year-old Talulah Does The Hula From Hawaii, who is actually from New Zealand, wins. http://www.guardian.co.uk/lifeandstyle/2008/jul/24/familyandrelationships.newzealand

The story also has some other humdingers in it from New Zealand, some that were allowed by registration officials, some that weren't.

  • I had a student named Imunique, pronounced exactly how you think it would be.  I also had a student named Mister and identical twins named Edward and Eddy.
  • My fiance wants to name our children Frederick, Broderick, and Pandora.  Frederick is a family name, so that's fine.  He wants Broderick because he thinks Frederick and Broderick together sound funny.  And he wants Pandora cause women are the root of all evil.  He knows there is no way in he!! I am naming my daughter Pandora.  That child would never live the jokes down.

  • I knew a couple when I lived out west who named their son Jamison Danger. So that he could actually say that Danger was his middle name.

I love Magdalena. It was my great-great grandmother's name. She went by Lena.

  • I saw a person on X Factor named Treyc or something like that.  Her parents were before their time in giving their kid a random phonetic name spelling.

  • My daughter went to daycare with four children named Awe-Jenay, A-Quayla, Nye-Asia, and Richard. Depending on how you look at it, the boy either got lucky or got ripped off.

I also have friends that are named Skye, Dax, and Windy. Their mom was mentally ill.
  • I think your Jon and Kate Halloween picture is hilarious!

I just love how it sounds, and I like the nickname Maggie :) Plus it sounds cool with FI's last name (Miller).
  • I had a roommate in college who was named Ripple.  Her parents were apparently hippies who loved the cheap alcohol.  Remember Redd Fox yelling for his Ripple?  That stuff.

She came to terms with it as she got older, and by the time I knew her, she had vanity plates that said "WAVE."

    Her brother's name?

    Tom.

  • I went on vacation and met siblings: Stone, Slade, and Jade... Earthy, much?

Getting really irritatated with my "fb friends" who name their children: Rayleigh, Roneelee, etc. Adding -leigh or -lee does not a girls name make. :/
