• Katie, that's hilarious! I love pets.

K Byte, I LOVE your sig pic. Do you have an AW thread with some more around here somewhere that I missed because I'm lazy?

  • ummmmmmmmmm.

Right now, I get up off the couch, I let Max out. I sit back down. 15 minutes later, I let him back in. 20 minutes later, he wants back out. 15-30 minutes later, he wants back in. Repeat said pattern for 5 hours.

It used to be cycling 8-16 miles on the weekend (ok, this was last year, dammit) with John. I hope to get back there before the bikes get put away for the year. However, I just got the paperwork for a freakin' HANDICAPPED parking placard (temporary).

I need some metamucil, some ensure, and some other old people stuff.

  • And Katie? When we get home, Max HAS to walk between our legs and get his back scratched hard. It's ridiculous. Then he comes back through from behind, nose first.

  • Wow, K Byte. Your pictures are just stunning. Your church is mindblowing. I love your dress (who's the designer, if you don't mind me asking?), and you look gorgeous! Congrats!

Minka does this first thing in the morning. She walks in between my legs, all the way down the damn stairs. Every day I fear for my life.

It's a Pronovias Manuel Mota collection dress that I don't think is sold anymore, the style was called "Silencio." It was a 2009 dress and they already have just the 2010s and 2011s on the website :(

What is it about cats and doing this? Demon will either take the steps one at a time with me, winding the whole way, or she'll wait until I'm on the last step and fly into my legs. I've gotten to the point where now I just get to the second before last step and stop so she can fly by me.

Ok, attempting to wake up Dh, take 1!
  • I'm sort of excited, I mentioned to FI (way before we got engaged) that I thought we should take some dance lessons together- get us off the couch, doing something healthy, learning something new- and he said that while he's not that into it, he can see that I am, so he's game. I hope it's as fun/funny as I think it'll be, and burns some calories, too!
  • I do "10 minute solution" Pilates on Netflix instant watch. It's like a 60 minute thing where you pick out what you want to work on. I do arms with weights, and then the overall one.
Warning: she has no stretching anywhere in the video and I hate that. She goes directly into Yoga master moves with no warning of difficulty and so if you try it you will hurt yourself. I stretch before and after and it took my a week or two to do things as good as she does. I really love the arm workout.

Yes, if she's not in between my feet, she's flying down the stairs way too fast and right into my legs. Usually in the middle of the stairs though, which is quite perilous. Thankfully we have a bend in the stairs which usually gives me enough time to realize she's coming and stop and prepare myself for 10 lbs of hurtling fluff flying at my legs.

That sounds fun, Knitti! I'd like to do that too.
Yeah, Minka loves my yoga mat. Unfotunately, she also loves me on the floor, so I have to shut her out of the room when I do yoga or she'll climb all over me, headbutt me, attack my feet, or try to push me off the yoga mat.

Every time I try to do any kind of yoga or stretching, Baxter wakes up from wherever he was napping and tries to "help." EVERY. TIME. I'll be standing on one foot or something and he'll come up and get on his back legs and try to push me over, or he'll start biting my feet or something crazy like that. Oh, cats.

  • I have a treadmill and I'm working on Couch to 5K right now. But I've been stuck on week 4 forever and I'm losing motivation. I actually went back to week 3 this week so that I could feel some sort of accomplishment for being able to complete a workout.

I would run outside, but I would seriously die.

  • I go on the TreadClimber for 40 minutes while I read my book, then on the rowing machine for 10-20 minutes while I space out and think about wedding or moving, then I do some weights, focusing on my arms and abs.

Otherwise, if I'm at home, there's a good arm workout I found in the June issue of Body + Soul.

    No music, surprisingly enough!

Not a good week for getting naked.

  • I'm late. Sorry. To answer the original question:

I do bootcamp at 5:30 am 5 days a week, and 9:30am on Saturday. SUnday is my rest day, but sometimes I go to the gym and do 30 minutes of elliptical with FI.. I'm trying to adjust my work schedule so I can start doing 2 bootcamp classes in a row on MWF. I've been doing it on Friday and its really fun. Our workouts consist of strength, functional/agility training, interval work, sprints, and sculpting. We also play games, like freeze tag, cat and mouse and capture the flag. No 2 workouts are ever the exact same.

When I am training for triathlons, i do bootcamp 3x week and swim 2 mornings a week. It is the thing I need to work the most on. I do a long ride on Saturday. I really can't run very far because of an injury, so bootcamp running is enough for me.

  • I do 30 minutes cardio on the treadmill followed by either 25 minutes free weights or 20-25 minutes on the weight machines. I also do crunches and, as of last week, pushups. I work out at the gym 4 times a week.
  • I was doing P90x but stopped. Now I workout at the gym until August when I start insanity. I work my back and shoulders one day. Triceps and chest another day. Legs and Biceps another day. Cardio 5 times a week. 20-30 minutes of cardio on lifting days. 40 to 60 minutes once a week. Sometimes I will run on an off day for 30-40 minutes.

I like to workout to anything hard and fast (ha!) If you want my playlist let me know and I will email you.
What do you do? Do you work out at home? At a gym? Just cardio? Just strength? Both? Classes? Favorite workout song?

Posted by J&K10910
I walk up the stairs in my house a few times a day. And I walk about 15 mins each way to get coffee in the mornings when I'm at the office.

I also walk about 25 minutes each way to the uni from my office about once every fortnight... does that count?

Seriously, though, I could really do with some strength training, because I have none.

  • Walking counts!

  • Ang, did you like P90X? Why did you stop?

  • Lol I'm glad, ricks!

I was walking a lot more previously- we used to catch the train to work so I'd walk an extra 30 minutes a day- and I always walk very briskly. I also would take the 6 flights of stairs out of the subway rather than the lift.

Now, I have a car spot at work so just drive in. Part of me is looking forward to moving on from this job and not having that perk, so I'm forced to excerise again. If I don't do incidental exercise, I don't do any- and then I feel really crappy. There's no gyms near our house, though, thus I haven't joined any, because I know the distance I'd need to travel to get there would mean that I'd never bother going.

  • Sun, at least you are doing something.

JK I loved P90x but I got bored with it after 6 months. I also did not follow the meal plan so my results were very minimal. I plan on following the Insanity meal plan.
