sharpie colors for photo guestbook

hello ladies!
I am making our photo guestbook. i have messed around with lots of different background colors for where the guests will sign/write a message and black looks like its the best. my dilemma is that i know there are white, gold, silver, etc. sharpie markers out there but when i did a google search my results came back with "transparent" silver, gold sharpies. not sure that is what i am looking for, maybe it is.
do any of you have suggestions what would be best to buy for a black background???

Re: sharpie colors for photo guestbook

  • We too have a photo guestbook with a black background and I got acid-free markers in white and silver that most scrapbookers use.  You can go to any local Michaels, Hobby Lobby, or other scrapbooking store and you can find them.  Hope this helps!
  • thanks! i guess i assumed it had to be sharpie because it obviously needs to be quick-drying-----are the scrapbooking ones quick-drying?
my worst nightmare is that the writing gets smeared everywhere!
  • I agree about the smearing.  I drew a little hear on the one corner of the page with the silver one and then touched it after and I didn't have any problems but I think it depends on how thick the tip of the pen/marker is.  The more ink it puts out the longer it would take to dry are my thoughts.
  • Go to your local craft store (Michaels or Hobby Lobby) and search through their scrap book markers & pens. They often have some ready to open with paper, so you can try them out. If you are really worried about it ask one of their employees for suggestions. I used to work at a craft store and people did this all the time. There are tons of options, believe me.
