Am I the only one who thinks it's weird when couples share a FB account?

It seems like half the time, it's really only one half of the couple (usually the wife, in my experience) who actually uses it, so is it totally necessary for it to say

"John Mary Smith" or

"John-Mary Smith" or, my personal favorite,

"John n Mary Smith"

Thoughts?

I've seen it a lot in really religious couples. They tell me it is so that they can remain faithful and not be tempted in their relationship.

I find them strange, too.

I think it's weird, just like when couples share email accounts. I only know one couple with a joint account, but their situation is a little different. They have John Smith and Mary Smith, and John Mary Smith that they were using for their wedding guests.

A friend of mine has a wife who created a joint account right after they got married a few years ago. My friend found out about it a few months later and was embarrassed. Now they have separate accounts. Lol.

I think it's really weird. I tend to think less of the people that do it because it just seems so dependant.

I don't think its weird but like you I think it's pointless when only one of them actually use it. Before I got a FB I used to log under FI's when my family would contact him about me or when he wanted me to see something. Now that I have my own I don't use his.
We have a joint email account solely for wedding related purposes but we also have separate accounts.

I agree, Cew. It seems like it's generally the ladies who create these accounts, and it almost seems like a possessive move to me. Like "look, we have the same FB account, our names our mentioned TOGETHER, so anyone who's thinking about giving my hubby a second glance needs to BACK THE EFF OFF!!!"

Should pigs start flying and FI asks me to create a joint FB account, I plan on laughing in his face.

I think it's a little weird. It's actually a pet peeve of mine. I think it usually means that either the couple is too clingy or one of them is trying to control the other.

I have almost 1100 friends and FI has like 200. When we first started talking a'nd asked if he could add me on FB, he said "I'm pretty sure your friends list could completely destroy mine in a quest for world domination without even trying".

He's so adorable.

A girl I used to work with has over 2,000 FB friends. I'm quite impressed.

As far as friend count goes, I have less than 70. If people are annoying (mainly people from high school who knew Scott but added me too) I have no qualms deleting their asses.

No prob ricks! Haiti gets a bad rep, but it's actually much more beautiful than you'd imagine.

And yeah cew, totally. I'm SO glad my dad divorced her. Too bad she's still a nutcase. And that's putting it mildly.
