In Response to Re: Unpopular Opinions. : But the reason government assistance was started was so the CHILDREN could get healthy foods/what they need. That's what WIC, TANF, and other programs do-- They allow families to get a little extra so that the kids don't suffer. It's not the children's fault that their parents keep popping out kids-- why should they get their assistance taken away for their parent(s) mistakes?
    Posted by btrflykate1230
It's obviously not the children's fault, and I'm not saying this would work. It's just my unpopular opinion. I'm for helping families in need. I just feel a decent amount of the families in need who are on these programs can lack commonsense regarding reproducing.
When I was very young my mom had to take advantage of governmental assistance, but she also didn't keep having children while she was on it.

I was at a birthday party recently where I girl showed up in leg warmers.  WTF?  The fashions of the 80's make me stabby - they did then, and they do now!  Well actually I did love me a pair of hammer pants, and my flourescent green and pink LA Gears.  But that's cuz I was way cool in a super lame way.

I don't even think most babies are cute.  And unless I'm very familiar with them, I don't want anything to do with them.  I don't know how to hold them, I don't know what to do when they cry, and they just give me the heebie jeebies.  So I'll sit on your unpopop couch.

  • I'm an Apple snob.

I don't think there's any reason for women to stay at home just because their partner makes enough money to support them both.  I don't think it's silly for her to work if she doesn't "have" to.  And I think people who think that way and say "Your FI/H/whatever is a (insert lucrative occupation here)??  WHY are you working?" are morons that deserve a junk punch.
