My fiancee and I are getting married on July 21, 2012 in Rhode Island.  We have civil unions here.  We will also be going to the court house in Mass. to get a marriage as well.  We are having a handfasting ceremony and a reception for 150 of our closest family and friends.  We are at a little less than a year now and doing pretty well.  Venue, photographer, officiant, videographer, save the dates, DJ, and dresses done!  Feelin good so far about the timeline!

    Hello Ladies..

My Name is Patty and my Fiance's name is Karina. We are planning a trip to New York on Oct. 11. Our one and only reason is to get married!! We have read a lot about how to get a marriage license and it says that after buying the license we have to wait 24 hours before they will perform a ceremony?? Is that right?? The reason I ask is because we are only there for 3 days and I need to get my facts straight.. please help..

We are planning our nice big beautiful commitment ceremony WEDDING on April 28 2011 with 150 guest and I hope to wear a beautiful white dress while my handsome girl wears a nice tux..

If someone tells me how to upload pixs I will but Im new at this.. thanks!!

Me and my fiance are planning our wedding December 28, 2012 in Atlanta, GA. We are having a very "traditional wedding". We both decided that we want to wear dress, and each already have 5 bridesmaids and our brothers as our best mans! Feel free to check out our wedding website!
I know it is not legal in our state but we plan to fly to New York for new years and make it official.
I am having a blast planning our wedding! But am getting sorta stuck on how we should walk down the isle. Any suggestions? I want to be unique. Our venue is an old plantation home with a huge double staircase cascading down into the ballroom with a fire place at the end. So maybe we should walk down either side at the same time? I could use some ideas!!!

Thanks and congratulations to all the newly engaged gay couples!!!

  • A wedding is something pure...you have no right to marry someone with your gender...it's not only agains the law it's against the Bible.....I can't believe that people these days are so blinded by sin....read in the Bible MATTHEW 19. 4-6 and think about it very deeply....these are the words of one true God!

Really? I can't believe that people these days have such cruddy little lives that they need to set up fake profiles to make themselves feel superior to others. Sorry you're so insecure in your faith that you need to lash out like this.

  • Hello everyone - my wonderful girlfriend surprised me with a proposal on Christmas morning!  Everything has been a wonderful blur since then!  We don't have a date set yet but we do know that it's going to be on a beach, which will be tricky since all of the beach states near us (we live in Virginia) have yet to legalize gay marriage.  Her mom, bless her heart, is mortally afraid of airplanes so we're a little bit stuck for the time being!  However, it's new and where there's a will there's a way!  I've loved reading all of the stories everyone has posted and am warmed by all the love!

    Congratulations Everyone!  Smile

  • Hello, I am Nat and my ladyfriend Rachel and I are planning to marry . . . uh . . . sometime? I've been kind of dragging my feet about planning and setting a date.  We also live in Virginia, so part of the problem is legal issues. We'd love to get married in New York state, but would the name change still be recognized in VA? Anyway.
  • Hello Everyone!

My name is Natasha and my lovely fiance is Danielle. We have been engaged for almost two years. We have slowly been planning. There is no date in stone yet. Since in WA we can not legally get married and WA ALSO does not recognize same sex marriage. So we are thinking we might just get a domestic partnership and then have a  commitment ceremony with our family and friends.

I have had an account on here for awhile now just never came to the boards.. Smile
  • Hi!  My name is Steph and my lovely fiancee is Karen. We've been together a little over 2 1/2 years and have talked about marriage for a while but I finally proposed at the beach on New Years Eve. We think we're getting married in September 2013 but we're not positive.  A lot depends on whether or not MD legalizes Same Sex Marriage.  We could always drive down to DC and do it since MD recognizes..we will see.  We haven't started planning, but it will be very casual Maybe rent a pavillion at a State Park and have a big bbq or picnic. My parents are great, her's are so-so. I look forward to gettin to know people on here!
  • hi there

Lucky, lucky us! My partner and I are planning a fabulous wedding in Tulbagh, Western Cape, South Africa.  Our date is 28 March 2012. I have an event design business, and can't wait to start planning my own wedding
  • Hello all,
my partner Chris and I will be married in Maryland 9.15.2012 and are in hopes that legislation will pass that we can do it legally in our home state by this date, if not we will take the hour ride to DC that morning to make it legal there so at least when it does become legal in Maryland and hopefully nationally some day we will be "grandfathered" in.  We already have our venue and DJ booked, but we would like advice on a photographer and honeymoon tips as well.

    Thanks,
    Eric & Chris

  • Ok found the perfect wedding venue crazy gay lesbian transgender friendly just outside of LA been looking since the overturn.  California is going kicking and screaming down same sex aisle but they are going ck out this very cool Los Angeles Ca venue www.gardensofparadise.com

  • My fiancée and I are planning on doing the legal part in September in New York and the ceremony at home in Pennsylvania in January 2013. We know we want an elegant ceremony/reception with black and silver as our colors. We'll probably wear matching tuxes but we're looking for ideas on what to do for the actual ceremony. He wants to do a hand fasting and I want to do a unity candle ceremony. We'll find a way to tie them together.

Hello Allison and everyone else! What a great board I am a non-denominational officiant and I am always so honored to officiate ceremonies for ALL couples.  I am in New England all summer, and Florida for the rest of the year, and if I can help couples in any way, I would be honored to do so.  http://lovingunity.com

Congratulations and all the best to you!
  • I am interested in photos or ideas that you would like me to blog about on my wedding blog that can help other couples planning their ceremony.  If you would like to do a guest blog, that would be even better.
