Snarky Brides

Low cut or cleavage baring attire requested

So at this point in the game i have sent out both save-the-dates and more recently the invitations themselves. Every single person has now at this point started to call or ask me, in most cases repeatedly what to wear. Honestly i don't care what you wear, i had a hard enough time figuring out what i am going to wear. I have given all the appropriate data to make your own adult decision, including : time of year, location (both geographical and indoor temperature environment) and time of day and type of reception.  I am tired of this question.

From now on if you ask me you will be told to wear the lowest cut, tightest, most cleavage baring piece of attire you own.

Or if you happen to be a guy, a speedo.

That is all.

Re: Low cut or cleavage baring attire requested

  • I hear you... I never realized that this many people are that obsessed about what they wear. I haven't even sent out my invitations yet, and I'm getting that question. Here is my standard response:

"As long as you're clothed, I don't really care."

    'Nuff said.

  • I've had almost every guest ask, but I expect it because it's an outdoor wedding on the river so people aren't sure if they should be casual or formal (despite the invite saying informal reception).

My only request is that people don't wear light/pastel blue, as that's the color of my dress. I don't even care if women wear a white sundress or anything. Hell, they could come in shorts and a tank top and I'd be fine.
  • Tell them to wear a halloween costume.

  • People really call to ask what to wear? I have until October but this is something I wouldn't expect people to ask! My answer is lined up now: "You don't call me to ask me what to wear everyday of the week so why would you want me to pick your clothes out for this day? I am not your mother and you are not 3."
    Anniversary
  • People will probably still know you're the bride, even if someone else is wearing a blue dress. Unless you have a thunderstealing twin sister that decides to wear blue.

    I disagree.

I am going to put "clothing optional" on my invites, just like they have on the nude beaches...

I am kidding by the way.

Meg I dont know why you are lying about your gown in your bio.  You already sent me the pic of your actual gown.  I think it suits your "clothing optional" reception.  I think its only fair to share it..........:)

  • I have a SIL who probably will this.  She has already shown some of our family dresses like this, that she wants to wear to the wedding.  One year for Easter she went to brunch as a pregnant stripper!  In fact, two people have suggested I ask her to be a BM so that they will be assured she is dressed appropriately.

  • You should refer them to your wedding website, so that way they all get a "one size fits all" answer. Tell them your wedding colors, and, yes, again, go over the time or year, time of day and where the wedding/reception will be held (indoor/outdoor) and leave it up to them at that point!!
If they still don't get the picture, block their numbers on your phone :)

    Oh snap
  • Last week you were fretting quite a bit about the behavior on this board.  Have you decided to adopt a new, in-your-face stance?

I have a new mantra, well, not new, but back in action...be a duck, be a duck, be a duck

Edit: PS- I sent you a PM
  • I put on my wedding invitations dress: semi formal pretty simple. Of course if anyone asks I will smack them for not fully reading the invite. Jeeze
