They go all out. The menu is insane and we eat for like a week off of it.

    Christmas breakfast:

    TBD

    Christmas snacks:

    chocolate

    nuts

    Christmas Night:

    baked potato soup

    Wellington

    broccoli cheese and rice casserole

    pie

We usually don't have CHristmas dinner, but we have Christmas eve at my godmother's house, where the menu always includes"

Seafood Gumbo (sometimes chicken & sausage)
    Turducken
    Roast Beef
    Potato Salad
    Graton (Cracklins)
    Boudin
    Boudin Balls
    Peanut Butter Balls
    chocolate dipped Ritz/PB sandwiches

My Godfather opens a new bottle of Crown Royal every year so everyone has Crown & Coke. If we are lucky and the humidity isn't too high, someone will bring divinity.

Last year my dad had to leave for work the next day so we celebrated his birthday (27th) that night as well, with a home made butter pecan cake that his GF made. I love her.

[QUOTE]If I didn't eat mammals and I didn't want turkey, I think I'd have salmon for holiday meals.  But pasta is a good choice too, I love pasta.  Maybe pasta AND salmon. Now I want salmon.

<div>Have you ever tried Rainbow Trout?  I had the best Rainbow Trout with a crab risotto ever the other night when DH and I went out for our mini-moon dinner. I also had tuna tartar, apparently I like fish/seafood just a little. </div>
  • Christmas Eve (gift unwrapping with J's family)
Pizza (and a pasta dish) from Pizza Hut. Fairly "traditional" for them.

    Christmas:
    airport food for breakfast

    who knows what for lunch

clueless for dinner. My guess is, if there's a restaurant open, we'll hit that. We're flying to VA the next day for a week, so I doubt my mom's going to do a major cook-a-rama.

Do not mess in the affairs of dinosaurs because you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup.
I love you Missy. Even though you are not smart enough to take online quizzes to find out really important information. ~cew

[QUOTE]I don't eat mammals, so I've been having some sort of pasta dish for the holidays since I was about 11 years old. My mom started making it for me so that I would eat more than just mashed taters for holiday dinners. I carry on the tradition with BF's family

When I stopped eating red meat, my dad started making a veggie lasagna and a regular lasagna. Now I don't eat any meat and he... does the same.

  • Christmas Eve:  Tortilla soup with chicken and avocado

Christmas Day: Smoked turkey, and all the traditional comfort foods - green bean casserole, sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, rolls, apple pie.

  • Ham
    salmon
    deviled eggs
    boiled potatoes
    carrots and green beans
    salad
    vegi tray
strawberry rhubarb crisp with whipped cream

I usually make a lot more stuff but this year I am staying at least mostly on message with the healthy eating. I will have desert and no doubt two deviled eggs that day, but I am picking the salmon over the ham and there is no bundle of cheese or cream or even a bunch of butter meeting the potatoes this year.

None of us like Christmas cookies much, and I am burned out on making them so I am making my chocolate chunk cookies and calling it good (people always either eat all these asap or ask to take a few home so I think all I need are chocolate chunk!)
