Please explain how that quote actually fits in with this thread.... because honestly you really lost me there. I thought some folks WERE speaking up about something that was offensive to a specific group of people... even though we may not actually BE in that group of people.

I agree. I don't actually have any people I don't 'like' on these boards, I've learned to agree to disagree with a few people's opinions, but seriously? This was way beyond inappropriate.

I wish people wouldn't quote personal attacks and seriously offensive language. When it gets deleted, you make it harder on the mod to decide whether she should delete all posts with the quote as well... which IMO borders on over-modding if the post contained other content contributing to the thread.

Please consider revising your posts and deleting the quote so that it can be properly removed... as it should be.

I am actually okay with personal attacks, honestly. She wasn't passive aggressive about it. She said it directly to her face when she had the problem.

GPB's picture was removed. There is a possibility (slim) that she could get banned. She didn't silence a group, she was silenced. That is what makes it relevant.

This isn't the supreme court, it's a privately owned international internet forum.

ETA: and the post was clearly against the rules set forth by the forum owners, thus subject to removal at their discretion... every one of us agrees to abide by those rules when we join.

Well, as I said, you don't have to agree WITH them, but you do agree TO them when you join. So it's kind of a moot argument with the whole supreme court/freedom of speech thing.

I like rules. They keep things neat and tidy. I always know where I stand when I know what the rules are.

That's all well and good, but it's not your site, you don't get to make the rules. If you don't want to abide by the rules you agreed to so that you could post on someone else's forum, then they have the right to remove you from the forum for breaking their rules. It doesn't matter whether you think they're over-regulating or not. They set the rules. Don't like it? Don't post on their boards.
