I'm here for another hour. Does anyone want to debate religion? Politics? Talk about television programs? Discuss Harry Potter? Show me funny pictures of animals doing human things? Any blogs I should read RIGHT NOW that aren't on your usual blog hosting sites that my bastard work will block and report? I considered making this an unpopular opinions thread, but I'm in such a foul mood that I hate everything today. Didn't seem wise to be all "I Hate ALL PEOPLE!" and alienate everyone and then expect you to entertain me. So yea...I DON'T hate all people. Dance, monkeys.

My doctor's name was Weiner. I would try to pronounce it "Whiner" and he'd always correct me. Like he was PROUD.

I have been SO HUNGRY for the past week or so. I've literally had to start eating twice what I usually do. Of course, this means I just had two Starbucks pastries instead of one, and now I feel like a 5 year old with ADD from all the SUGAR!!!1!!!!11!!!!! I'm kind of annoying myself.

Oh yeah, and I also don't really know what the big deal is with this Weiner guy. I mean, I get that he texted people photos of his weiner, so we're all having a field day with the name, but are we more up in arms than usual about it? Is he being pressured to resign or just publically humiliated? I realize the answers to my questions can be found on the internet, but I just don't actually care that much.

Yea. I'm not sure that's unpopular. A dude thought showing off his junk would impress a pretty girl...groundbreaking. They all think we're way more interested in looking at those things than we actually are. If it had been a video instead of a picture, and the video was of him helicoptering, I think it'd be a way better story. Fingers crossed.

Yeah, he tweeted a picture of his junk. And then lied about it for a few days. He has apparently sent innaproriate picture messages to a few ladies. He is newly married. His wife just announced she is pregnant (and she is like BFF with Hillary Clinton). And his last name is Weiner. That's about it.

I think what he did was (obviously) shitty, but I don't really think it's anything to resign over. He never even met these women, and he didn't break any laws. There are more important things to worry about.

Eh, if the Weiner thing really was a consensual exchange of pictures, then yeah, its probably an overreaction. People love a fallen politician.

The thing that's skeevy is if she didn't ask for such a picture - then that's harassment, IMO. And I do think its a big deal if a congressman is harassing someone. But I tend to be really sensitive/prone to thinking things that that are harassment, so I could be way off-base.

I find this whole sex scandal sans actual sex thing to be ridiculous. Yes, Weiner is a diick (heh.) and he did some douchy things. Should he be reprimanded for it? Yes, imo. Should he be raked over the coals and branded a sex offender for it? Naw. I mean, I understand the whole concept of a morality clause in situations like this: this guy represents a portion of the population and therefore should be held to higher moral standards. But to have it blasted all over the news every freaking day like he murdered someone is overkill, to me.

Shan, I feel you. I went to 4 different bathrooms on my floor earlier today, and they were all occupied. And I don't know what my coworkers do in there, but good lord they take forever. Although since I change for soccer in the bathroom twice a week, I have no right to complain about someone hogging the bathroom.

I also feel really bad for his staff, which may be coloring my opinion. I mean, everyone knows that working on the Hill is relatively unstable work, but it sucks when anyday you could find out your boss did something stupid, he gets pushed to resign, and you are unemployed the next minute.

I know people lose their jobs everyday, I guess it just kind of hits home for me because this is where I live and work.

I feel bad for Weiner's wife (that sounded...odd) but I don't think he should resign. I don't respect that he lied about the pics, but I don't think it's resignation worthy.

In other news, I was helping a co worker inspect dorm rooms today (92 degree heat) and she said "hey, watch out, don't step there. Mouse droppings". There was almost a me-shaped hole in the door. I.CANNOT.DO.MICE. AHHHHHHHH.

Kiki, its definitely sad for his wife. And if the pictures were unsolicited, I think its harassment, like I said before.

I just don't have the same outrage over it as I would have if he were a "family values" candidate. The candidates that are holier-than-thou about so-called family values issues (anti-gay marriage, for abstinence-only education, anti-woman policies, etc.). THOSE people I do have a problem with when it turns out their own personal lives contain violations of their supposed moral code.
