So, I am officially a harvest-season widow. DH's winery started processing grapes today, so that means he'll be working 12 hour days, six days a week for the next few months. One of the few drawbacks to marrying a wine maker is harvest season

Anyway, I'm watching cash cab with a red wine/ diet coke mixture in hand. The wine was corked and not really enjoyable on its own, so I decided to try the RHWONJ cocktail of choice. Not bad! Not great either but...
Who's here? Watcha up to? Any plans for the weekend?
Re: Firday evening roll call

katie- me too! Love cheesy films that don't really make me think too much. If I'm watching a movie then I want it to be enjoyable and not work, ya know? I get my fill of analyzing from school.
I felt a cold coming on yesterday and I beat that bytch like a grown ass man and now it is gone!! My best friend has had one for over a week and that was not going to be me.
Chicago Classic football game tomorrow if it doesn't rain. Fingers crossed and rubbing a rabbit's foot.
Why, yes it is Captain Morgan - glad to have you aboard! lol He's mah man (besides FI, haha). I have 2 favors:

1) The place card holder doubles as a favor - it's a cute little ornament.
2) Lindt Lindor Truffles - the Limited Edition ones that come out in the winter...I love them but I forget the name of the flavor, lol.
Here's the ornament/holder:
What did you have for yours? How long have you been married?

Is Four weddings that show where they compete for a honeymoon? I've never seen anything but previews for it.

We did mini wine bottles with personalized labels. They were one of my favorite details! We got married on June 26th.
I'm jealous of your winter wedding! I really wanted one, but the summer worked out much better for us. Are you getting excited?

You and H are adorable, btw. And your kitty is pretty cute too!
Yup, we went to Oahu and had a freggin blast! Are you planning a honeymoon?
Jas - he's practicing right now with ODST. We are going to Best Buy tomorrow to get the new one. Sigh.
[QUOTE]Ciaram- I love jelly bellys! One of the few sweets I really like :) Aaand I think favors that guests can eat or drink are the best (could be biased here)

That actually seems to be the consensus around here - that edible favors are the best.
Birdie - lol at FI bragging. Isn't it cute when they're proud?

H and I are going to the park in the morning for a good run. Then home to finish the housework, laundry, etc.
ps- that sounds fabulous! Jacuzzis are amazing. And a secluded cabin in winter (with a bar, no less) sounds so romantic! We would have stayed in CA but MIL sooo generously paid for our honeymoon as a wedding gift.
We did a long almost 2 week honeymoon. We spent 3 days at disneyland, 2 days on Rodeo Drive and then a 7 day Mexican Riviera cruise. DH planned the whole thing and did a great job. All this was paid for and then we had some last minute emergency expenses that took the favor money.
[QUOTE]Hi Jas! We can wallow in our widowship together :) Any plans this weekend?

I'm having a party tomorrow, 1950s theme. I'm looking up food. 50s food was gross, just fyi,
You?
As for the weekend, my town is having an avocado and margarita festival tomorrow so I'll be milling around trying guac and margarita recipes from local vendors by myself, as DH has to work:) He hates avocados, but I intend to buy some and make awesome guac for me for football on sunday!
Ciaram-that sounds great! That is awesome that H planned it all himself too. How special
