Happy Friday!

Morning Knotties!

I am patiently waiting right now for our stuff from Japan to arrive, the movers said within the next hour-1/12ish, so yay! My sleep was horrible, didn't fall asleep til after midnight woke up at 5 when H woke up and left and didn't fall back asleep until 630 only to wake up an hour later again. Ugh.

I am hoping the movers won't take long so H and I can go drive up to Jersey today for the weekend to see my sister and her family.  They were supposed to come down last weekend but it snowed. I miss my niece!!

My niece, cutest little ladybug ever!

Any weekend plans?

She is so cute!  I hope everything works out so you guys are able to go see her!

FI just got home last night only to leave tonight for drill this weekend.  So I will be staying at  his house watching the dog again.

One of my BM's just turned 25 yesterday so we're having a fancy dinner party on Saturday for her.  My MOH is flying in from DC so we are ordering her dress Saturday morning and then going dress shopping for something to wear to the dinner party.

Sunday I might try out a new church.  I love the church I grew up in but I feel like I should try other churches just because.

Kara- that is one cute lady bug!  YAY for getting your stuff!!! I know you will be so happy when you get your stuff!

My mom came in last night so we are having some girl time.  Shopping, eating and of cousres college football.  Tomorrow is a big day football wise for our teams.  USC plays the Hogs (Ark.) and that is a really big game for us.  USC needs to win out so there is no confusion about who goes to the championship game from the SEC east divison.  Then there is Iowa, they play Mich and are 5-3 and they need 6 wins to get into a bowl game.  Then there is the BIG ONE.  Bama vs LSPew (LSU).  That game has my tummy all kinds of upset.

Ok wow sorry about the football post.  :)

So excited for you re: your stuff! That's awesome. spif- yay for knocking out another dress, too!

hmm weekend plans. Well, FI is working all weekend- the centennial anniversary airshow at his base is this weekend, and one of his collateral duties is security, so he's there all day today, tomorrow and Sunday.

I'm working today and I'm working a few hours in the ER tonight (until 3am in). I don't have Saturday/Sunday plans.... so I'll be studying for my test Tuesday and also trying to find a venue or figure out what we need as far as rentals go for us to do an outdoor wedding at a friend's property. My "break" will be riding my horse (hopefully).

and...ugh, I really need to clean my apartment. I also need to start slowly packing some of my stuff to send home with FI whenever he comes to visit so that when I do actually move down, we have a lot less stuff to move. I'm thinking most things other than my kitchen stuff and my clothes, etc can start to be packed (or sorted so I can throw away the junk).

I don't know why the ladies in my office feel the need to tell everyone their personal business: like periods, random hook ups, and family problems. I donno, maybe if you were my age but being about 20 years older than be I don't really want to know...

Tonight I am going to my business fraturnity's pledge party (Every semester the pledges put on a pretty epic party for the members), I am looking forward to it, because for once in a long time I don't have exams or something else for the next week, so I plan on having a good time.

Saturday, SLEEEEP, and football game... and I need to do laundry really bad.

Sunday, Initiation for the pledges, I don't really mind it, but my parents are in town so I'd rather see them instead of going to initiation...I've done about 6 initiations, I'm over it now.. haha. Anyone that has been in a sorority, it is the same kind of initiation, except more business-y.  I have some desgin/programming for a system I am building for a group in class, I am hoping that goes by pretty quick, because I'd rather not spend all day on that. =P

Kara, your niece is precious! And yay for getting your stuff from Japan! I'm excited for this weekend actually. I'm kicking off my holiday shooing tonight at Mistletoe Marketplace tonight, it's a huge collaboration around here with handmade pottery and gifts, clothes and well, really anything you can think of! Then Saturday is homecoming at Miss. State so I'm going up there for the game, and then it's the game of the year Saturday night! (Alabama vs LSU)

Thanks ladies! I really can't wait to have our stuff back, it will be awesome. Now I'm just hoping nothing is broke or lost and that they put everything back together since they took them all apart in Japan! We don't want to be stuck doing that!

@Spiffy: Seems like you have a nice weekend ahead of you! Although your FI is gone have fun with the girls! I'm actually thinking about looking for a church out here too.

@Crown: Have an awesome time with your mom! I won't see mine 'til Xmas. And yay for football weekend! I'm not a big fan but I do root for USC being from out there and all. And my BIL and his whole family are huge Iowa fans!

@Fire: You have a horse? Nice! I ride from time to time, and it's so fun! Whenever I came over to Japan for the past year I always bring extra stuff with me that way the movers would pack it for us since we did a X-country roadtrip. I'm so glad I did that because our car was so full, we couldn't even bring everything we wanted! Our parents are still mailing some stuff to us! lol

Oh my goodness, what a cute little lady bug! My niece (will be two in a couple weeks) was a duck! I have a day full of laundry and dishes, and taking care of kitteh Binx. When the animal hospital opens back up at 4:00, my FI and I will be taking him to get the drain tube removed yay! Then hopefully it will heal up nicely and I can have my non-drugged kitty back to normal!

    oh my goodness stinkin adorable!!!
I feel ya. H had to be in bed by 6 last night so I slept on the couch and couldn't fall asleep until about midnight, but got up with him at 2am to make his breakfast/lunch/coffee and couldn't fall back asleep. sleeeepppy.. but that's okay because it's FRIDAAAAAAAAAAAAAY :)

I hope the movers get there soon and that everything is accounted for!! :)

spiff- are you not a dog person at all, or just not HIS dog? Lol...

crown- yay for mom time :) That is awesome! Sounds like you have a great, relaxing weekend ahead of you. We seem to all be so stressed lately, I'm glad to hear it!

firemed- haha.. you don't know what relaxing means, do you? Who studies for a Tuesday test on a Saturday?! :P
A slow move will make it really easy for you to really throw out the stuff you don't need (throw out=donate). Take advantage of it :) I can't handle clutter at all, so I LOVE moving to get the change to get rid of crap haha

mel- omg I want to go to this holiday thing of which you speak O.o sounds like my heaven haha

I am exhausted. It's been a crap week and I'm so glad today makes it over. Tonight there is a Hail and Bail which I'm not looking forward to, but of course will go or else wives will talk.
    I'm ready for a laaaaazy weekend :)

I'm headed up to DC tonight!  A friend is getting married in Charlottesville tomorrow afternoon, so I'm going to spend the night in DC, have a happy hour downtown around 9pm for a few good friends (and perhaps a local knottie... if anyone in the area wants to go, PM me!).  Tomorrow is wedding fun, and it should be gorgeous - I'll AW pictures next week, hopefully, since this bride is a high school friend and super creative.  The wedding is book themed - their STDs were like the "reserve slips" that used to go in library books - with a bookmark!  So stinking adorable!  Their wedding invitations were made to look like little books.

Sunday I'm having lunch with a friend and his girlfriend, and then an early dinner with FI's cousin (our officiant) and his partner, and then the flight back to Miami!

The horse I'm on is the one I own :)

@FTL- I don't think I'll know what relaxing is until after my wedding! I have sooo much to do. I wish I could take my time through this nursing thing and relax, but I would like to be able to live with H once we're married, and I can't do that until I finish up this program (Because of logistics of finances and the move) so......... yeah, that's motivation, but it kinda stinks to have so much going on all at once. At least it keeps me semi-distracted while we're doing the LD thing.

Cal- Sounds like a fun weekend.  Enjoy yourself :)

FTL-  I didn't like dogs as a child but I love them now.  FI's dog hates me though.  He is so posessive over FI.  It isn't even technically FI's dog, it was his stepdad's wife's dog but he grew so attached to FI that when he moved out she said "You might as well take the dog with you."

I will say that when FI is gone this dog absolutely loves me.  Cuddles with me on the couch, wants to play, etc.  But the minute FI walks in the door he does nothing but growl at me and glare at me.  It's so weird.

firemed- I feel ya. The wedding stuff definitely makes you feel like you have 500 things to do and they all need to be done NOW NOW NOW!!! lol. I can't imagine going through a nursing program while planning a wedding.. that program is so intense... bravo to you for that!

spiff- I see. meh... That sucks that you get stuck taking care of the thing all the time. You would think after a while he would warm up to you buuuuut notsomuch. lol.
I want a pet so badly :( I bugged H to get me a dog or cat (At LEAST a cat.. they are easy) for so many months but he always had excuses... deployment, holiday travel, wedding planning, work training, dets, more wedding... I just got sick of the excuses. He doesn't realize that HEEEEE is busy. I'm stuck home alone all the time. And it's sad :( I want a flipping animal. I feel like he's being selfish but I have lost the energy and hope to bug him anymore.

FTL-  I love Moses (FI's dog).  He is 8 right now so he's very well behaved.  We can go to work and leave him out, doesn't pee on carpets, doesn't eat everything in sight, etc.  He's so good.  I really do love him but I think once he's gone I am going to try to suggest to FI that we take some time off from having a dog.  We always feel bad leaving him to go to things.  When we do go somewhere we end up leaving early because we feel bad that Moses is home all alone.

We plan on buying two Doberman Pinschers the next time around.  That way they can play with eachother while we aren't there and we won't feel AS bad.  We also decided on two so that we can go through the puppy stage all at one time and get it overwith.  FI grew up with a Doberman and she was the sweetest and smartest dog ever.  So he's convinced me to get one (or two rather) the next time around.

My unwanted advice: Do the research. They can easily be needy dogs... Whenever someone wants a particular breed, I push this... Growing up showing dogs, I know too many people that get a dog because its cute, it's tough,it's protective, that's what they had as a kid, etc that end up getting rid of it because they don't realize the kind of personality and health issues that particular breed has.
I would LOVE a border collie.. It's what I was raised with and they are fantastic dogs, but I know I don't have the time or space to give a bc what they need, and because of that I think he/she would run all over me. They tend to if you don't keep their brains active :P I really want one... but I know that's just not the dog for us.. not now anyway. Oh wells. :]

  • edited December 2011
Oh I completely understand!  We've looked into them and done research.  FI had one for many many years and his mom pushed him into disciplining it so that she would respect FI as well.  So I trust that he can discipline them and train them well.

Who knows what we will do though.  Moses is only 8 and I'm sure he'll live to be like 20 just to piss me off :) haha.

@Crown: Oh hahaha. I forgot about SC, and I had a DUH moment when I read that because you're from there! So, for Iowa you mean the Hawkeyes right? I know one of their cheerleaders, here she is:

    My niece of course! ;)

I saw something like this on etsy and fell in love. I want those so bad.

This weekend is pretty wide open, we are going to go on a double date with one of the guys that FI'd friends with here and the guy's girlfriend who just drove down here from Michigan to see him for a week. That's a super-long drive, so I hope their visit goes well. Other than that, I'll probably start Thanksgiving shopping and catch up on laundry.

Yay Kara glad you got your stuff!  We are having a very lazy day today.  H is off and sleeping on the couch.  I'm working but it's slow so I'm being lazy too.  We had a command party last night that was really fun, and we definitely did some drinking!  I sent H this morning to get us some Burger King breakfast, and it was fantastic!

Our plans for the day involve being lazy and cleaning the house.  My parents and our good family friends fly in tomorrow for the week!!  I can't wait!!
