Morning

Morning everyone.

Rainy day here. It poured all night, the entire drive to work, and is still raining. It's wonderful. Well, for me because I love rain. Not for H, since he can't work in it.

I got my permanent crown yesterday and it feels weird in my mouth, like something is stuck in between my teeth. It's a lot bigger than the temp so I guess it just takes some getting used to. I vaguely remember having the same problem with the first one I got.

I'm currently annoyed with Amazon because they are fcking up my ebooks. They are listed on their site for sale, and yet not live on my account, which means I can't track anything and when I try to reset everything I just get error messages about missing information. It's all there, a-holes. Fix my shiiiiit.

Re: Morning

  • Crowns are ballsack. H had so much trouble with his. Hope yours is good, Sesh. I am home for the 2nd day now. I've got a nasty cold and I haven't been able to sleep or eat because I'm coughing so much. I probably could have gone into work today but my coworker is pregnant and I don't want to get her sick.
  • I hope you feel better soon. Colds with bad coughs are the worst.

I keep feeling like I'm going to bite my cheek and it's making me paranoid. But on the plus side, my tooth is super smooth and polished and feels cool.
  • Add me to the annoyed with Amazon bench.  Well, it might be USPS.  We ordered some stuff for FI and it never showed up.  Just got an e-mail that it was supposedly undeliverable.  The address was right and we never got slips that said "hey you weren't home and we tried to deliver this"..wtf.  Thankfully it was superaver shipping.

I'm off to pick strawberries this morning.  I love this day every year :)
  • Morning. I was bummed I didn't get to do the Pip thread but my home computer was sent to the manufacturer to be repaired. FI has a bad virus. I've never seen him sick like this. I feel bad. It's also technically an anniversary it was one year ago that he asked me to be exclusive, even though that sounds cheesy. We acknowledged it but we won't do any celebrating.

  • Morning! I'm going rogue aka mobile this morning again. I've never worked somewhere where literally everything is blocked on the internet. At least I can access my gmail account using a separate browser. I bet if I had an iPhone it would be much easier to navigate the mobile site. BBerry's are the worst. Today will be a pretty normal day and then out an about in the city tonight for the final phase of FIs bday celebrations :
  • Morning.  I still have a ton to do before the weekend, I'm probably taking tomorrow off work.  It is freezing in this office this morning.  I might have to turn a heater on.
  • Morning everyone.

I finally sucked it up and went to urgent care yesterday, and apparently I have a 'severe' sinus infection. Woohoo for antibiotics.  I can hear my ear make a popping noise everytime I tilt my head. It's kind of fascinating. ;)

Anyway. I got an email from my boss last night scheduling a meeting this morning. All it said was "quick *dept* meeting" with her, myself, and my one other coworker.  Of course I stressed about it all last night.
  • Eek, Steph.  I hate vague meeting summons like that.  I hope it turns out well! I hope you feel better soon too!
  • Steph, I hope your meeting goes well! I tend to stress about things like that and even more so when it seems out of the blue.
  • Morning!  There's nothing interesting going on here today.  I have to pick stuff up from last semester, buy supplies for class, read for class, and go to class.  Luckily, class doesn't start for another 8 hours, so I have plenty of time to get it all done.

  • Morning! Found out my parents are staying with us tonight for a funeral they are going to tomorrow, so I am trying to think of some place for us to go out to eat tonight.

Koda- I read your post about what happened yesterday. Good luck job searching!
  • Morning. Work is still busy and I am just not feeling it. I can't wait for the weekend. I really want to take one day to do absolutely nothing.

Koda - the case i was just a juror on was definitely interesting but it was also pretty horrific. The crime was so senseless and brutal. I always thought I would find being a juror interesting too but i don't think I will ever want to do it again after this experience.  I think it wouldn't have been so bad for me if I wasn't also totally stressed about work the whole time.

The PIP post last night made me realize how few photos I have of myself and of FH and I. I really hate how I look in pictures so I try to stay behind the photo. I'm really dreading wedding photos.

  • Good morning, ladies.

We had a bad hailstorm last night.  It was crazy - the streets were rivers, and we got wave after wave of heavy rain and marble-sized hail.  My maple trees are shredded, and my new garden is shredded.  I'll have to assess the damage tonight.  Did you get that storm too, BK?

Chels - I had an Amazon shipment that was damaged en route, so UPS didn't deliver it.  But they apparently didn't notify Amazon to give me a refund.  They were good about it, but I shouldn't have had to ask.

  • I am really bummed I missed participating in the PIP thread. I didn't have my comp home. But I love seeing all the photos you guys posted!
  • Me too, Kate.  I'm sad I missed the PIP-fest.  I didn't have the computer with all the pictures on it at home anyway.

  • Morning ladies!

H will be late again tonight, so I'll probably take the pup another walk. I was hoping last night would wear him out...no such luck. He was very bad last night. And the petsitter took his long lead off his runner  and hooked it to the eyebolt on the shed, we didnt realize till he went to take off and we heard god awful yelping, he ran out of lead and just about choked himself to death. He's used to having room and on the clothes line he has some give. Poor baby.

    Here's hoping today is better.

I must have missed something, whats up Koda?

It is the same concept and Saved By The Bell is awesome, so there is always that.

  • Brandi, so you got engaged before you were officially together an entire year? I'm always curious (in a genuine way, not snotty) how people know in a year or less that they want to marry someone. I don't think I would have said yes if H asked me any earlier than he did.
  • I heard some interesting facts on the radio that I wanted to share also.

1 in 4 people who sleep with someone who snores loses an entire hour of sleep each night.  This can lead to their own health problems.

25% of people in a relationship with someone who is depressed will become depressed themselves.

37% of People in a relationship with an obese person will become obese themselves (they also said this works in reverse- someone can lose weight if they are with someone who is smaller than them).

I can see the first two, but I thought the third one was a pretty high number.

Les- You'll be jealous, we got NOTHING from last night.  Pretty much the entire metro area was under tornado watch, even the western suburb where I grew up (we never had one the 20+ years I was living there).  They say we're due for another storm like that tonight.  Good luck.

Nothing exciting in my life today.  I'm tired, and ready for a nap at 8:30 in the morning.  Hopefully I can get a lot done today.  Have a good day y'all.

Yep.  We got engaged about 4 months after we were officially together.  FI's parents were on about the same time line.  We know we moved really fast and that scared both of us a little bit. He and I just have very similar feelings/thoughts/opinion on marriage and divorce and other major life choices and he is the only person I know that feels the exact same way that I do. (Background- neither of us believe in divorce for ourselves so we are entering into marriage with a covenant marriage license.  I may have mentioned this before though. We also have the same views on religion, child care, finances, etc...)  We also made sure we discussed some the extremely important thigns in great detail and went through a few months of premarital counseling.

<div>I probably wouldn't have said yes either, but for some people it works.  My parents met in May 1977.  They were both dating other people at the time, but realized that they liked each other and both broke off their relationships.  They started officially dating in June 1977, got engaged September 1977, and married March 1978.  They are still married and going strong.  And, my dad is 10 years older than my mom, and he had been married before (which I didn't find out about until I was like 21, ha). </div>

  • What's a covenant marriage license?

I think I'm too much of a cynic to trust my own feelings. Part of me "knew" from the first date that H was the one, but I didn't let myself believe it. He's the same way. I'm surprised we got married at all, to be honest, since we were both so against marriage.

Here is a link to it.

Basically, divorce gets taken off the table unless there are extremes (one spouse commits a felony, abuse, adultery).  You can separate and file for divorce in other cases BUT you have to be living separately and going through counseling for 18 months before you can file.

  • I can't edit my post above but I think I got the time frame on separation wrong.  I think it might actually be longer than that.
