  • Please don't think my new siggy is meant to cause an argument - Stan suggested it on Facebook, so I made it, and then I liked it so I made it my siggy!

  • Good morning beauties! :)
I am so tired this morning! I can't get used to this waking up early thing yet. I need to go back to Mexico. H wouldn't go to sleep last night until he found out who won Iowa... seriously, even the news people were bored!

<div>FWIW, I love your new siggy. I also miss Stan's old one with Obama's picture and quote.</div>
  • Anyone who likes it is welcome to use it as their siggy, if they like!  I can send you the "tinypic" link so you can just post it in your status:

cal- I didn't see it answered but the difference between a detachment and deployment:
YOu know what a deployment is, obviously, so I'm assuming you just don't quite understand the detachment aspect? It's just a unit... or part of a unit, that can break away from the unit for a specific mission/TAD/TDY kind of thing. They aren't necessarily on a deployment with their whole unit, for a full 6-9-12months or whathaveyou. For example, the Marines have a special forces unit, but are broken up into detachments for specific purposes.  Or even on a smaller scale, H sometimes flies to the middle east to drop off a plane and bring one back for repairs/upgrades. That would be considered a detachment because it takes time, but it's not TAD, and he gets back when he gets back and the job is done. Make a little more sense?  Sorry for the ramble.. lol.

Beach... I'm with ya on the Iran making me uncomfortable :/ H is getting read to deploy soon and I do NOT like the stories he has about flying NEAR Iran (if they fly over Iran, they will be shot at.. awesome). I don't like tensions getting worse >_<
I wish 5th fleet would.. move. lol.

CAB- How's the wifey stuff coming? Getting everything in order at all, or are you putting it off? ;) haha..

I don't have an issue with someone making a political comment on fb, but I don't like when they get pissed off that someone comments it with an opposing view. You put your opinion on the internet and that's bound to happen. Accept it.
    Go Palin/Bachmann ticket for 2012!!!! ............................................... :o) tehehehee

  • Morning! So I'm pretty sure I woke up with a cold. I literally woke up sneezing and my throat hurts. And AF decided to visit me today so FML.

I have a question. Hope someone can help!

    So I always see this:
    my boards: California-Inland Empire | California-Inland Empire | June 2012

And I want to change those options because not only are 2 of them the same but I don't even live there! Does anyone know how to change it? I tried googling it but didn't come up with anything.

  • Tyleet, I think it lists Inland Empire because your location is Orange County. They consider that as part of the IE. Idk how to change it though. Maybe if you hide your location?
Warning No formatter is installed for the format bbhtml
  • Thanks for the explanations!  I get it now, I think.  Deployment means with their unit for X months to a warzone, whereas detachment can be for training or a temporary mission that separates them from their permanent duty station.  Yes?

  • I massively want to get another dog.  I know I've only had this one a month, but I feel like she'd love to have a playmate and I have lots of love to give!  Problem is, because we're moving in with my parents for 3 months, there's no way they'd be okay with us getting another dog.  So I have to wait until we're married... but FI better be buying me a dog for my wedding gift!!!

  • Cal-  funny!  I love having two dogs for the most part.  They totally act like brother and sister.  Roxie will take Gunner's bone when he is not looking and Gunner will do the same.  I really liked it last night when it was super cold here and one was spooning me one side and the other on the other side.  Hope there is room for H when he gets home.  HAA

I feel like I haven't talked to you in forever! Ehh, the wifey stuff (paperwork wise) is a PITA. The recruiter called us today and said if we didn't have our marriage cert. to him by today, H will not get reviewed for the Army dental scholarship thingie on the 18th. OF course, our cert. isn't ready yet because Orange County is freakin lazy. Sooo, guess who's getting pushed back, AGAIN. Sigh...

Anyway, other than that, being a wife is no different for me than what I was to him as a FI. Only difference is the fact that I actually LIVE with him now, and in my mind, I keep thinking that I am going to go home everyday. :P It's funny.
  • CAB, I didn't realize you guys didn't live together before marriage.  Have you guys had to physically move your stuff over?  Merge furniture, etc.?  You're living with his parents, yes?

Mine says OC when I want it to say IE! Wanna switch profiles? ;)
  • Bingo, Cal. Sorry.. My rambling explaination is complicated.. lol.. but yes, pretty much. :]

Cab, he's being unreasonable, and I really doubt that's anyone DEMANDING IT RIGHT NOW.. he's just being needy... I'm guessing you explained to him that you can get it to him the day that the state gives it to YOU, unless he would like to speak to the state himself? ;) haha

It's totall a PITA.. I STILL don't have my DL changed, even though I have my SS card changed, and all the military stuff (id, tricare, etc) squared away.. oops :o) haha... I'll get to it one of these days.. probably next week................. haha

I didn't realize that you two weren't living together either. *fail* That's a big change!! Everyone always asks us how married life is and we're just like, "uhh.. we've been living together for two years so... it .. isn't anything new? " but going from not living together ----> living together? Kinda a big deal! ;)

But they do have OC listed as a location option which confuses me. I just wasn't sure if it could be changed somewhere.

Cab, I think you can edit the location that is under your name somewhere...

  • Cal and FTL, yeah I was not officially living here until after the honeymoon! I would stay with H every other night. In the process, I moved most of my stuff in, so I have most everything here already. No furniture and half of my clothes still stay at my moms house. We will save all of that for when we move out into our own place.
