Re: Have we all forgotten?

• Am I lost? We're on the etiquette board, right? ::scratches head::

• Exactly, OWN. All of our favorite people gathered to celebrate with us. Family and friends came to witness our marriage, and we were grateful and happy they could be there.

• In her defense, I'm pretty sure her rant is directed to the "wedding industry" for pushing these ideas on brides and making us think that they're necessities - nothing at all having to do with the Etiquette girls in particular.

The fact though that she posted this rant on the etiquette board, and posted along the lines of taking your etiquette and shove it (which makes no sense having to do with the rest of her rant) - is debatable and kind of random.

• Also, to answer your question, no, I haven't forgotten the whole point of this dumb party I'm throwing is that I'm married at the end of it. I think at least once a day about how the coolest part of the whole thing is that I'll be married.

• Mery, I have no idea if she's posted before, I just checked out her bio in which she proclaims they got engaged at a friend's wedding. And honestly, when I got married, I knew I only got a day (not a week, not a month, certainly not a year), so damnit, I wanted my day. Wait like 5 more hours to get engaged, don't do it in the middle of someone else's celebration that's focused on them.

I was wondering where you got that little nugget of info. And yes, I agree, it's in really poor taste to hijack someone else's celebration. Hello AW.

• I don't think etiquette means what you think it means.
• I think OP just wanted an excuse to throw a temper tantrum.

I feel like I saw a post about it once. And yeah, I just looked at her bio, too. I completely agree. If someone got engaged on my wedding WEEKEND, fine. My friend is getting married this Saturday and her FSIL got engaged 2 weeks ago. Awesome. But yeah, not at the reception which I'm paying for the celebrate myself, thanks.

• Snippy, I have huge love for cheese too. I love the cracker cuts that are already pre-sliced and the perfect size for ritz crackers. Makes me happy. And then cream cheese on tomato basil triscuits is amazing.

I did some cyber stalking and found this post on her blog. It might shed a little insight: http://toobusyplanning.blogspot.com/2010/05/things-only-bride-would-know.html
• I'm with Snippy, I had no idea cheese came in cracker sizes now! Then again last time I was home I was shocked to find tax on a restaurant bill and had to be told that actually, we've always paid tax on restaurant meals, so maybe I've just forgotten about the cheeses too. But I don't think I'd forget cheese.

• Have any of you ever tried the Laughing Cow light cheese? Garlic and Herb is a-ma-zing.
• Birdie, my favorite part is that she says weddings have their own etiquette.

No, they don't. That's why even at your wedding it's not ok to ask for cash, seat people (WP members) away from their SOs or make them pay for drinks at an event you invited them to attend. Pretty sure it's the people with no clue about etiquette who try to make it sound like weddings are magically different than any other social event.

I'm trying to remember what else I've missed. Hum. I know I usually forget about all the variety of stuff. Oh. And things that I used to think were so insanely good are just not anymore. Like goldfish crackers. I was so sad when I had some last time I was back for the wedding, and they were just.... not as good as I remembered.
