S/O Lady Bits...

Re: S/O Lady Bits...

  • I'm pretty open, I've talked about this type stuff (and sex stuff, etc.) with my close friends (guys and girls) as well as some of BF's family (siblings, cousins) that we are very close with.

[QUOTE]I rarely if ever trim or shave, because I've read that pubic hair keeps your lady bits healthy. If I'm feeling particularly naughty, I will shave it down, and FI likes it, but I only enjoy it for about a day or two. Then I start to itch and be cranky. He doesn't care though, so I'm free to do whatever. Can I just say I giggled my way through this thread? This is why I love this board - <strong>I would never sit down at a table with my friends and say, "Hey, how do you keep your lady bits?"</strong> I love you guys :D

Really?  I would talk about it with my friends.

Nope, don't think I'd ever be able to talk about this with mine. Actually, I think it only came up once a few years ago, but never again. That's why I like it here, cus we're always so open.

I am going to wax for the first time in about a week, but I usually just trim. I occasionally shave all. That cream is amazing. I occasionally get an ingrown hair, but no bumps with that stuff.

  • I have a trimmer thing and I use it regularly. Although not in the winter. More when I'm going swimming.

Weeelllll . . . I used to wax.  I loved the clean feeling but hated the "grow" phase.  And I hated that I had to keep it up.  So a friend of mine (BF's cousin actually but this was a few years before he and I met) - she had laser removal on her armpits and was going to start her lady bits too.  I looked into as well and decided to do it.  It wasn't cheap but was SO well worth it.  Just ask my BF!!  Ha!  No, really - the laser is multiple treatments.  Usualy 6-7, every 10 or so weeks.  You go in shaved already.  The laser zaps you (like a rubber band snapping into you kind of hard) at different settings.  It's particular good on light skin/dark hair combos but the lasers are pretty advanced these days and they can do it on a wider variety now.  There's a couple other things - like that you want to keep that area out of the sun while undergoing your treatments - and some other things I can't remember.  If you look into it, make sure to find a reputable place.  A dermatologist would be great but you don't have to go that route.
Any other details?  I'm a big fan of the laser & am so glad I did it.  Um, so is BF.  (I think I only said that twice <img src="http://cdn.cl9.vanillaforums.com/downloaded/ver1.0/content/scripts/tinymce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-wink.gif" border="0" alt="Wink" title="Wink" />)
  • What is this trimmer thing that you girls speak of? Link????

I don't really shave down there ever.  I mean I can but it hurts like hell and I get bumpy and in grown hairs, plus I itch and sting like crazy.  Would a trimmer make this go away???  In fact, I won't were bikini bottoms because I am so self conscious down there... :/  I suck.

Oh ya in case you haven't gathered I am au natural, but I didn't vote that way on the poll.  Did you guys know you are like a sex class for me..  I learn all kinds of stuff that I never knew before.  It makes me happy...

I usually use conditioner, but since I start working at that company on Monday I will have to try that...as well as a few other things!  Yay for employee discount! :)

<div>haha. I'm the same way. Shaving makes me get all bumpy and itchy. It looks like sat on some poison ivy butt naked or something. When I use the trimmer I don't get any bumps. I take off the cover thing and just use the actual razer. It's a really close 'shave' this way. </div><div>
</div><div>Here's the one I have. It got horrible reviews, but I really like it! Just takes regular batteries too. Only problem is that it's really loud. So don't do it at home with your parents around. That's awkward. Also, it's only $10!!! </div><div>

  • I'm reading this thread a little late, but I wanted to recommend a sugar scrub exfoliation regimen for those of you who are having ingrown hair problems.

I have always kept mine shaved with what I always called a "vanity patch" at the top. . . just my weird name for a landing strip. But one time I went to get a Brazilian, and I had a horrible reaction to it and then had a lot of trouble with  ingrown hairs afterwards. I started using a sugar scrub every day, especially on the bikini line and it has really helped. I haven't waxed since that experience, but the sugar helps keep any ingrown to a minimum, at least for me.

(also, just FYI, I'm not saying wax before a Brazilian - you're not supposed to do that).
  • Ditto cschiano on the exfoliant. My (former, TEAR) waxing lady used to tell me to EXFOLIATE all the time, as I'm prone to ingrown hairs as well.

I used to wax exclusively. As PP's (or previous poster, since we don't seem to have many waxers here) said, it's pretty much monthly. Those were the days! But it is SO EXPENSIVE ($35 plus tip in my area, and I love my lady so I'd often shell out $45 or $50, which may not sound like much once a month, but it adds up).

I'm a shaver now. I hate it. grows back fast, itchiness, can't get places the waxers get to and too lazy to really spend the time to get all up in there. Waxing does hurt a bit. But after a few months you really do get used to it. And it lasts so long. I find the more I wax, the longer it lasts, and the hair is somehow softer/smoother/not as coarse when it grows back.

When I waxed I went Brazilian. Mostly because it was easy, not for any aesthetic reason. BF likes that, but I don't think he would mind a landing strip. I'm not sure, it's never really come up.
