We're getting married in the tiny town on Westminister, SC, which is about 45 minutes west of Clemson. We're using a retired Presbyterian preacher as our minister. We met with him yesterday and asked what he charged or what would be an appropriate gratuity and he told us that he didn't have a price. He said he does it as part of his ministry.
What do you guys think we should pay him? $100, $200, $300?? I just have no idea!

Re: How much to pay officiant?
I would say 150-200. It depends on how involved he is going to be in the wedding and if you want pre-marital counseling from him. With counseling, I would say at least 500 but if he is JUST going to be at the rehearsal and wedding, 150-200 would greatly suffice!
