Roy's in Maui for small reception?

Hi there!

I'm a newbie and though my wedding is still a while away (8/2012), i'm rounding up options for ceremony sites, coordinators, and reception locations within my budget range.

Just wondering if anyone has had their reception at Roy's or at least been there to check out the location? I'm expecting about 10-15 people and would ideally like a location that was maybe beach front and/or has seating that can easily be sectioned off for my group (private rooms are even better!)

Any info would be greatly appreciated!

I think the Roy's on Maui is just in Kahana - and it's in a strip mall there with a crappy view.

The food is spectacular though!

We are doing ours at Merriman's Kapalua Restaurant. There are beautiful views of the ocean and Kapalua Bay.

I just did a locations search, and as I thought, the one in Kihei has closed--that one was in a strip mall. The one in Lahaina is still open, though. Lahaina restaurants are generally on "front street," if they are on the beach side it is generally an overlook as the beach is quite narrow (not much sand before the break, etc). I would recommend Roys for a welcome/rehearsal dinner--maybe not a wedding reception.
